Of course mankind takes precedence over any other thing. But, even some money is important as scarcity of resources leads to hunger and height of hunger takes away humanity and what becomes the most important thing then is Food. So money enough to finance our basic necessities is important so that we can think over ethical issues. However, Excess of every thing is bad and this implies for money as well if more money can take away any one's wisdom.
