Belgariad by David Eddings. It's a series and I managed to get a set that divides the books to 2 volumes. It's fantasy genre and one of the first that i've read even before Lord of the Rings. Why i like it... it left an impression and easier read than LOTR. It has a nice plot and it got me hooked on to fantasy novels.

i like few from my country's native literature. but i don't think they are very famous world wide, so from the international literature i like the greek myths alot. they are fascinating and i always find something new i'd like about them even if i were to read them over and over again.
