Do you have the power to forgive?

In the movie "Passion of Christ", in a particular scene. Jesus is bieng beaten by a few soldiers. In the midst of this struggle, the sword of one of the soldier accidently hits another and cause a cut on the side of his face and Jesus sees this and with his hand places it over the cut and it heals. Do you think you have that kind of power to forgive someone?

Well, it really is difficult to forgive people. i can forgive, but then i dont have the power to forget, and this can really be painful at times. i keep thinking about things for long hours and even after i have completely forgiven the person, i can never forget the incident!

As per my understanding, to forgive is to forget. They go hand in hand.. If you say that you cannot forget the incident means that you have not completely forgiven someone.
