is family guy better then the simpsons?

I prefer the Simpsons because the majority of their humor is family oriented while Family guy depends on more crude comedy.

They both have very different and distinguished styles of getting their points across. I like them both, family guy a little more though, just because it has more punch lines and is just a little bit bolder with their way of putting things. Now if you asked me between the two and south park, I would have to put south park at the top, family guy's next, and then the simpsons. I like the way that they all have a bold statement to get accross, but south park is the only one with gigantic balls to do what they do.

their would be no Family Guy if it wasn't for the Simpsons. The popularity of the Simpsons brought back primetime sitcom animation. I like both shows very much...always watch them both.

In its prime, "The Simpsons" were the greatest animated series of its time, possibly the greatest comedy on TV as well. But as of late (actually a few years now), "The Simpsons" are the example of mediocrity. Their episodes are shockingly poor in quality. They have gone too cartoonish. Yes, it's an animated series after all, but there's a difference between an animated series that infuses reality into the episodes like the Simpsons did from Season 1 thru Season 8 and the ones that scream "cartoony". Seasons after 8, "The Simpsons" have become just a time-passing, tedious sitcom. It's truly sad. "Family Guy" on the other hand is a welcome change from the recent redudancy of The Simpsons. It isn't a classic, like the Simpsons were back then, but there is much more hilarity running thru the episodes of Family Guy than the Simpsons. So, if you ask me what is better sitcom today, it is Family Guy. But, the best sitcom on TV today, without a doubt, is "South Park".

family guy is so much better. the simpsons is aimed at a family audience to watch while they are having their dinner together...but i think that family guy is more grown up, i love it

I really like the Simpsons the best. Family GUy is more for adults. They have more adult situations. But a very funny show.

Family Guy is way better than the Simpsons. The Simpsons are older and more predictable, while Family Guy is newer and you have a hard time seeing what happens next.

The Simpsons are the originals, definitely. I love them, but Family Guy in the new age family now. They're the Simpsons times 10, so I'd pick Family Guy.

Family guy is the best cartoon. they are just so unpredictable and everywhere! The episodes have more funny moments than the simpsons and they are lot of times unexpected. I believe that the plot of family Guy is better too. I like all the characters more than the simpsons as well. Loius and Marge have the same type of personality and they both married a fat guy......hmmm weird how that overlaps huh? family guy is better overall with brian being a talking animal. He is so funny I love when he gets drunk!

This is a no brainer for me. The Simpsons beats Family guy any day of the week. In fact I rarely laugh when I watch a Family guy episode. Homer is a thousand times more funnier than Peter Griffin. The problem is not Peter Griffin... the real problem in my opinion is the author, Seth MacFarlane. His sense of humor is tasteless, mean and in many cases childish or plain gross stuff. He tried to create a dumber version of Homer. Maybe Peter Griffin IS in fact dumber than Homer but he's in no way funnier than the Simpsons family father. And if we compare the authors' other shows, Futurama and American dad, the result in my opinion is the same... Futurama spanks American dad any day of the week. Futurama's characters were brillantly chosen and are extremely funny. Matt Groening gave himself a ton of options with Futurama: The ''futuristic technology'' that allows heads to live in a jar is so brillant that he still can talk about current events even if the action takes place in the year 3000's. In the end it all comes down to the authors: Matt Groening beats Seth MacFarlane blindfolded with both hands tied to his back.

i personally like family guy better, i just think the jokes are better compared to the newer episodes of the simpsons...especially the joke about the soccer player Zidane lol

I really love The Simpsons. Sometimes Family guys looks like the Simpsons. Family Guy does have it's funny moments. It's a good show to watch if there isn't too much on. But I would have to say that The Simpsons is better,even their not so funny episodes are better. My brother loves this show btw.

The simpsons has some traditions but i have to go with family guy because of the flashbacks, at almost everything they say there is a flashback they are absouloutly histaricle and have to be some of the greatest ideas every,"Like my great great uncle Ullyses S Griphon" lol

That's a very hard question. The Simpsons is a great show that's funny and I will always love it, but Family Guy is hilarious. The first time I saw the Stewie Griffin movie, I could not stop laughing. Although Family Guy is funnier, I will always love the Simpsons.

i like family guy better. i used to watch simpsons before but they only repeat some episodes of it. family guy has a lot of humor and it's so fun to watch. i can laugh my heart out. family guy is a great cartoon. i love it!

family guy is much better, the jokes have no relation to the storyline and sometimes has me laughing out loud. to prove my point watch some of the earlier simpsons episodes and then watch some of the new ones and tell me homer isn't getting more and more like peter griffin! the simpsons is becoming more and more like family guy as the episodes go on
