Ok... so I read 1984 a while ago, but it always remains one of my favorite books. A lot of people i know really don't like the book, but I love it.
Do you guys have books you love but other people hate? or do you hate a book everyone else seems to love?

I'm trying to think if there are any books I really like that other people don't... hmm. Oh! There's one! It's a relatively old fantasy novel by Mercedes Lackey and Andre Norton (rest her soul). The Elvenbane - it's pretty cliche fantasy and I don't know many other people who like it. But it's one of my favorites. I'm just sad the series will never be finished - there was one book left, and sadly Andre Norton passed away before finishing it.

Not many people have. It came out back in the early 90s, and didn't get much attention. There are three books in the series, but the third one gets kind of weird and moves off in a new direction.
Basically, it takes place in the future of Earth when a race of sadistic elves have come from another world and enslaved humanity, and focuses on the rebellion against them. I know it sounds kind of weird, but it's actually really good. Or, I think it is, anyway!

Wow, I haven't read 1984 in years. I think I was 11 or 12 when I read that? But here years later I still remember most of the book. It was really interesting and stuck with me. Funny how good books do that. I personally read alot of Science-Fiction and that really isn't much of a mainstream jandra for reading. I'm a great lover of the Dune series by Frank Herbert. Most people I know, when they find out about that very fact think I'm a bit odd. Oh well. I just enjoy good literature and sometimes the more difficult literature is for the common man to understand, the greater experience it is for the mind.

I like to read alot of Sylvia Browne's books. Also have several of Dr Phil's books. Then there's my assortment of horse books. I'm like spirituality books, self-help books and horse training and pedigree books.

Ya I love 1984... its definately an interesting concept... and it's cool what they thought of the future back when he wrote it, and how different 1984 really was from the book.

I love Brave New-World, Catch-22 and The Prince, all of which seem to have a lot of disdain with a majority of the public.
