yes..ofcourse..its fun debating through internet..The main advantage is that,if we are having anyother live debate or something the topic is limited,or we will be having only one topic..but as far as internet is concerned the number of topics is enormously large..this helps us to take part in the debates we like and to raise our opinion on the topic..

I like debating on the internet since it gives you time to think about and articulate ideas.

Dont threaten me with "ratings". I won't tread lightly because I don't have to. If you're wrong, I'll point it out. Remember your thread where you thought I didn't know what I was talking about? Yeah, that was you that was wrong remember?

I like debating online because it helps me stay current on issues that I care about, and it gives me an outlet that I don't have in everyday life.

I agree. Debating online can help you keep up on current events and issues that you care about.
I kind of makes you look at things from a different perspective! :D

I have never debated online, but I am sure that I would enjoy it.
I think that if I really know what I am debating about it can be really fun!!
And sometimes when one debates on MyLot, it turns in to an argument! And, that is not fun. :D

yes i like debating. but i'm not good at it. and, people dont keep upto the limits while they are in some serious debating. they use vulgar words, irritate and critisize other nations, people. i dont like this. i think this is a main negative that a internet debate has.

I do enjoy a good debate, as long as the debate does not turn ugly, some people are immature and take your disagreement with them as a personal attack, and then it's not fun for anyone. *sigh*

I do. However, I never fully expect to change anyones mind. As long as there is a discussion with people actually debating facts and presenting logical arguments then it can be quite enlighting.
However, too many times people resign themselves to name calling and just repeating what is told by other people.

I do enjoy a good debate as long as it stays on the issue. I think when character assinations begin then you really lose the essence of debate. Sometimes the only way a person can win a debate is by name calling and attacking the other persons belief system so that they feel "dumb" ... then you lose the whole point of debate.
Debate should challenge one's ideas and motivate them to think more indepth. At the end whether you have changed each other's minds isn't nearly as important as if you have grown intellectually.
