Heres the thing that bothers me most about it (I have a question too)... I was in the middle of moving from state to state when I decided that I would need to leave some things behind. 3 of those things we're very dear and treasured Taratulas that I owned. Well, one of them went to a really good friend of mine and she gave it to her little brother. She (the tarantula) is doing great and loves her new home! She gets lots of attention from her new owner and his little buddies. I also get frequent updates on its health. The other 2 tarantulas went to another friend of mine along with some furniture and our dog. The dog is better of in his new home without a doubt. He gets much more attention and gets to run more. Well, one of the tarantulas died (the youngest) and my friend didnt even tell me. I called him up one day and asked him how they were and thats when I was told about the dead one. Well, I decided to take a drive and pick up the remains as well as the other tarantula. When I got there I noticed how skinny the living tarantula was and instantly knew how the other one died. After a total of 14 hours of driving, I now had a dead tarantula and a live tarantula at home. I properly got rid of the dead one and within a day had giving the live one 6 big crickets. He (the tarantula) ate all 6 of them within 8 hours. Do you think I should feed him again or wait a week like usuall? He is supposed to get 6 crickets once a week (This has been found to be his optimal eating range after owning this tarantula for years).

I know nothing about tarantulas but if in doubt i'd just give it lots and leave it to it to stop when full. Mind you, in captivity they might have nothing to do so it'll probably just eat... perhaps give it a bit of a variety since it has been starved for a while.

Thanks for your reply. I have since gotten him back to normal. He is back to his normal 6 crickets every week. He has also grown quite a bit and is much happier now. I honestly think he remembers me. When I feed him now, he comes up to my hand like he used to. I almost have him back to the point of being able to comfortably handle him again. I for sure learned my lesson on this one. When you move, take them with you no matter what!!!

Jamie is a "striped knee". Since I posted this, he has gotten twice as big as when I got him back and is now living a very healthy and happy life :)

Well, Sara was actually very friendly and could be held and "cuddled" with no problems. However, this one (Jamie) is very quick to jump at you. He thinks anything that goes in the cage is rightfully his to attack.
