Do you think animals are more intune with thier 6th sense than humans are?
I notice my dog always knows when my hubby is coming home..She gets really excited and starts walking back and forth in the hall to the front door. Logic told me that she has an internal clock and maybe just senses the time of day he usually comes home..But then I noticed something strange..Even on the days my hubby left work early, say cutting out after only a half a day she STILL knew he was on his way and displayed the same behavior!
She is also deathly afraid of thunder..has been since she was a pup..I always know when we are getting a storm because she becomes very anxious...Her place of choice when she gets nervous like this is the BATHTUB...she just feels safe there..I have seen her do this when there is not a cloud in the sky and sure enough within an hour those dark clouds move in and we get a thunder storm
My hubby adopted her as a pup from an animal shelter..At the time he was in college and his roomate also had a dog..They became fast doggie friends and spend 4 years being pals..Life went on and my hubby and his roomate moved apart...we'd get together every few months and the dogs just went crazy each time they seen each other...
A few weeks ago I said to my hubby, I think the dog is not feeling well.. I was worried she was coming down with something because she would not eat ( this dog loves to eat and will be pretty vocal if you miss meal time by 15 minutes lol)
That whole day she just laid on my bed...she wasnt her usual playful self...and I decided if she didnt seem better the next day an appointment with the vet was in order..
Later that night, my husband's friend, his college roomate, called..He told us that his beloved dog had passed away..Did my dog since her freind was gone?? I wonder....

Animals are very much more in tune with the extra sensory perceptions than humans are. Children, I believe, are actually more 'open' as well, especially when they are quite young. But dogs in particular have developed quite keen senses that humans have totally forgotten how to use (I fully believe that all creatures possess a 6th sense. Most humans just don't realize how to use or develop it.) - have you heard the stories about dogs who can sense when their owner is going to have a seizure? I've heard a lot about dogs who have saved their owners life in this way.

lol i am sorry i responded to the person above before i read your post and you also mention the seizures...
I totally agree with this being something all creatures possess and you are right about children too...
I teach my daughter to trust her "gut" that weird feeling in her belly even if it doesnt always make sense to her...I think as we grow older we are taught to ignore these feelings and senses...
I totally believe psychic ability is more a natural thing than a super natural thing!

I definately agree with you that animals, especially dogs are more intune with their 6th sense. Dogs are used by epileptics to warn them of a pending attack and they can also detect cancers in humans. Now isn't that just incredible?

I definately believe animals are 'psychic'/more in tune...they have never been tainted by outside influences to NOT be tuned into that part of themselves..unlike children who are highly intuitive/psychic etc but are robbed of it as they get older.....all my animals carry on with our "company" on a regular basis actually which is sometimes annoying (at 2am) but mainly comical LOL

Yes. I think animals are more intune with thier 6th sense than human beings. at least, this is well manifested in Dogs. I got to know this when i was in Africa. If an individual possesed by eveil spirit is passing by, dogs would always bark . Also when something eveil is about happening, dog will sense it and behave in such a way that the owner of the dog that something terrible is at hand.

Hi Shar. I have a disabled brother and when he was six he would ride around the pavements on his three wheeler bike.
The disabled org bought him a cocker spanial for company every where my bro went the dog was with him.anyway one day an old man touched my bro on the shoulder with his stick in a friendly way the dog did not see it that way and bit the mans leg, the org took the dog away for re-training (some sixty five miles away) four days later the dog was scratching at the door to come in. if thats not sixth sense what is..............good luck

This is a great story. There are all kind of stories about dogs determining health problems. I have read one about a dog that laid on top of a child because he some how senced the child was going to have a sesure of sorts. I think animals are very intouch with different senses than we as humans are. They have a great nose and maybe we have a different scent when we are sick.
