I read that it may not be adviseable to eat more than 3 portions a week as the mercury levels are so high and may be realted to brain tumours. However evidence for this seems to be thin on the ground. Personally I eat at least 5 portions a wekk.

A good way to help ease the risk is to eat only chunk light instead of albacore. Chunk light tuna generally contains much lower mercury levels than albacore does. I sometimes eat as many as 7 portions a week or as few as 0-1. It just depends on the week.
