when i was a young child i loved to watch cartoons on t.v. every saturday mornings. among my favorites were daimos, voltes v, thunder cats, smurfs and transformers. sometimes i still see them on t.v. especially transformers and voltes v. but it is sad that the more wholesome cartoons like smurfs and care bares are seldom aired on t.v. anymore. what predominates are tv screens today are cartoons with lots of violence like dragon ball z and yuyu hakushu although i like watching these cartoons/anime, i still dont think they are good for children. how about you, what do you think?

carebear stuff are definitely cute and really girly. i used to collect them when i was younger. i do wish that carebears would be shown on t.v. again.

its a very interesting way to spend the time. i find tom and jerry hilarious but i dont recommend kids to watch it without supervision. its a violent cartoon.

I also used to watch those tv cartoons you have mentioned. I also remember watching Astroboy, Rainbow Brite & The Flinstones. Most of them are not shown anymore but i guess they are far better when it comes to inculcating good values to children. Most of the animations recently are really spectacular when it comes to picture & sound effects but are also mostly violent in nature. Parental discretion and guidance i guess is really important at this times with regards to what our children are viewing on tv even if it is animation.

im not watching tv often but my fried loves anime and lend me her dvds of oavs and series and watched it during free times.
its just a cartoon. you need to explain it to your kids very well so they can understand whats good and bad and whats reality or not.
its just a cartoon and we dont have superpowers like them.
