Dog does not bark

My Hunny Doggie is an Austrilan Cattle Dog. She will groan and whine and make a few other noises but she has never barked. Is this breed known to never bark?

Australian Cattle dogs do bark. Some bark quite a lot. Best friend has one who barks while playing. Others I have seen bark while hearding herding horses or when they were shut up FOR herding horses.

OK Thanks for the clarifaction. We got ours from the pound and we are pretty sure she was abused before so that probably has something to do with it. Just have to bring it up when she goes to the Vet next time.

All the ones I have saw bark but just not often and only when needed .They were breed to herd cattle and some do bark wehen facing one . They were developed by crossing the smooth collie with the dingo of course this was done a long time back .

I know all that but in all my life and the dozens of dogs I've seen and had I've never seen one that will not even so much as a yelp. She will playfully growl but has NEVER barked.
