helo cricket fan of all the world,
if you have been observing indian cricket closely, this question might come to your mind. there has been kinda cold war between sevarl factions here. But i am particularly interested abt the sucess of chappel or Ganguly. Recently, you know how India is playing. not recently actually, over last 4 months, they are never really tasting that supremacy or heroic achievement which coach Greg Chappel promised, after he made gangulay lose his place in cricket. he insulted ganguly, even so far as to say that he is terribly indesciplined (what abt the other players, guys? are they desciplined?). And now, they need the same man whoom they only insulted, and deserted. And Ganguly has made a strong comeback He has replied strongly to all theose insults and remarks. dont think I am a big fan of Ganguly. I just love his decent personality, and also his sixes (who can hit like he does?)Also, remember, during the time of Ganguly and John right, there were many less failures, than the indian team is facing now. So, who is winning this unnamed, undeclared battle. I am not against chappel, but i just dont like his short-temper.
what ya say?? please give details, not just yes or no.

I believe Ganguly had prooved his point by his performance in the Test series in South Africa. He was the only Indian batsman to score more than 200 runs in the series. No Chappel has no options but to take Ganguly for the one day series too. I think Ganguly should replace Sewag for the West Indies Series.

It's Ganguly who has won. Few might say that Ganguly is today a better player because he was removed as captain and thrown out of the team. This shows the coach has won because Ganguly has given more effort and then come back. If that is the case then why the coach can't do it with many others like Pathan, Sehwag, Sachin etc. I feel it is the Indian coach and all those who are in charge of the team should be held responsible for making Pathan feel and look like a lost man in the isles. It seems Pathan will not be able to come back before the World Cup. His confidence has hit rock-bottom. Sehwag's failure is another case. Look he is there even after what he has done over a long period. Same with Sachin. Sachin no longer looks like a genius, whenever he goes to bat it is sure that the opposition will gobble him up. Last but not the least Dravid - the Wall now has a whole in it. This is because there is nothing wrong in the technique of Dravid - it is because he is now thinking more on his captaincy. All these are the achievement of the coach! Perhaps this is what he is being paid off.
No one can shake off his/her motherlands's dishonour. I also feel very ashamed because of this. I feel for those who are working or residing outside India. What they will be going through. Just imagine you are staying in South Africa and going to the office next day after a series loss. Even if no one says you anything, how do you will feel? Have our so-called cricket stars and their coach though about that?
Many has said that because of this coach we now see few young bloods like Sreesanth. Yes, there are few but my request to them will be please look at this list - Mohd. Kaif, Yuvraj Singh, Sehwag, Pathan, Zaheer, Nehra - all these players were the core of Team Indian during the tenure of Wright and Ganguly. We already lost most of them either for injury or for lack of form. Moreover in the last test we saw Munaf Patel playing - whom almost everyone in the ground and commentary box opined that he is unfit. Just remember how he went out also, as if he was in a hurry to go back in the cool comfort of Dressing room.
I think this coach is a failure but we have to see him till the World Cup and only then something can be done.

Yes Exactly you are write, Chappel is an agrressive man but he has short temper. Ganguly also agressive man and he certainly deserves a place in the indian team while lokking at their poor performances. Lot of people doesn't know that Greg Chappel's main promoter was Ganguly, because of Ganguly Chappel was selected as the coach, but there was a huge miss understanding Between sourav and greg that lead to gangulys omition from the squad, but ganuly fought hard and got selected in the squad. If India was making good progres before gangulys inclusion I dont think selectors will be considerring him for the team. I think its gangulys Luck also played a vital role here. But he certainly desrves his place in the ODI team atleast. But in the end its anguly Who WON the battle with Chappel and with the Selectors. I hope he will be considerd for the up cominfg ODI series against West Indies

I am too a big fan of ganguly. He is a real hero of indian cricket. His winning % is also the best up to now as a captain.Even John Right made many gimmicks with him, he came back strongly, that is capability of our hero.I don't think he is having any short-temper like silly problems, because he is a professional player, instead he can be treated as a daring and dashing hero.

Yes i definitely agree with you. With the performance of the indian team during the past few months the captainship of Dravid has come to a question? The performance of Ganguly was always questioned. But dont you think everyone has his ups and downs. And even after not performing he used to win matches by his captainship. Its not always that a good performance on field wins the team but yes Ganguly has proved it wrong by his rightful captainship. Why do we forget that the indian team played the worldcup final after twenty years in Gagulys Captainship. Coach Chappel should have thought of his capabilities before making such stupidious arguments against Ganguly. If Ganguly was out for his poor performance then what about Virendra Sehwag ??? Hez not performing since decades. Should we throw him out. Yes the Coach's decision to get Ganguly out was certainly stupid and unjust. How can such a good player be insulted by the coach.

that there is a cold war b/w chappel and ganguly is stating the obvious. But the thing is how long can chappel continue with his policies which arent showing any consistent results.
Ganguly is a good batsman and i just hope he performs consistently as he is doing now.
Lets not blame chappel for our failures in south africa.
He is the one who found out the talent of sreesanth and others.
He has a good eye for talent, but may be his approach to the matches isnt right...
So finally it all boils down to team work rather than any individual mistakes or credits

i think no one has won.......
in greg's mind, ganguly's performance was not upto his mark.....
but now as he has been performing well,
he has been selected.....

Actually the war between chappl and ganguli was not fought between them. It was faught between our so cald politicians. Yes i admit here that some kind of misunderstanding was between the coach and captain but the actual crisis was between our politicians and in my view the winner is our politics not the coach and captain.

yeah... definitely Dada.. no doubt in it. Dada won on Chappel.
I cant see the success of Chappel any where since he took the power as a coach for India. And to say abt the series of srilanka its purely the talent of our players and at that time there is no effect of chappel on the team. And the John Wright+ Ganguly combination is very good and produced better results than this. All the bad time started when dada was removed from capataincy and chappel doing the dirty experiments in the order of the player.. for example- Pathan... he was spoiled by Chappel only.

its not the matter of winning orlosing.both have done their parts.chappel is the guru and ganguly has now become a great person in sending the message to the world that never giveup and good and bad times come for everyone so without bringing down ur spirits keep trying and work hard , success will be urs.thanks dear ganguly for this great message u have given to the world by becoming a role model ur self.
