I need advice. I want to act but have no experience

I live overseas right now, and I'm going on 30 years old. Since I was little I wanted to act. I set that aside when my mother told me it was a 'no-brain' job. At that naive time, I believed that and moved on. But I think about it everyday, I 'pretend' I'm in movies whenever i get a chance, I study the actors, and even found an acting coach (I haven't started anything). I'm a military spouse, and I want to do this, even if I don't get far, I can say I tried, and move on. Does anyone have any advice?

There should be amateur stock anywhere around. It's without pay, but it would be good experience and look good on a portfolio. Look around to see plays going on in town, then take part in those plays. Even if it's just helping with props, it's experience. It gets you noticed.

I'm sorry it took me so long to see this discussion of yours! And I hope you notice my reply. But I was just looking up jobs for myself, and I found someting that would be perfect for you! Go to www.careerbuilder.com. You dont have to join to search jobs, but you can if you want. Than search jobs for movie extras. You don't need experience for it and it'll help you get used to the atmosphere and it might make people that deal with movies start looking at you! :) If you have trouble doing any of that just tell me where you live and I will give you links that provide numbers for you to call! :)
