I will suggest the name of Sunil Gavaskar.Because i think he is so good in giving advises, though he is not capable of implementing any...What he says in commentary makes it feel that Indian team is the best team and all other teams are craps...So he will boost our team confidence

I feel it's too early to comment on next coach as we should wait till world cup in 2007. But i do feel that gavaskar will make a good coach because he has been a world clas batsman for india and with his experience and being with current team as he is doing commnetary n the amtches he will certiasnly know what ails inidan cricket and hopefully do something about it. as he gives all right advise on television let him put them in action.

dont you think its time we had a good bowler as a coach as well?
sunil gavaskar is by all means a great prospect for the job but a good bowling coach like kapil dev can boost the team like anything.

it does not matter as long as the players take responsibility and play to their potential...who ever the coach may be

wht u said is true...but the coach is responsible for guiding the players properly.
a good and responsible coach can ensure that the players are performing to their full potential.

I think it is too early to talk about who should be indian cricket team's next coach. As greg chappel has had some success with the indian team as he moulded Dhoni nad yuvraj to become aggressive and consistent players in last season leadinh India to world record in ODI"s of most successful run chase on trot. And he has coached india to first series win over west indies over 30 years. I think the indian team has not played to potential so coach can do that much only to guide team but if they don't perform one can't petrform mriacles overnight. i think we should wait till world cup in 2007 and decide if to retain chappel or get a new coach in his place. i think we should get an indian coach next time round as they will idnian playrs more. and i feel gavaskar, and sandeep aptil will doa good job.

i think greg chappel has been an arrogant and stubborn coach who just loves to have his way, be it in the team selection or batting line up etc....
although he has had credible success with our team, he has also been too inconsistent.
he has turned our team into a laboratory where he conducts his cynical experiments and this has ruined careers of youngsters like irfan pathan.
so, we need to talk about the next coach and if the team doesnt get better quickly, we may as well have to replace greg before this world cup.

well i think that india should go for an indian coach because there is no point in opting for foreign coaches and india should switch back to india coaches...it is a lot easier to learn from the local coaches..

i think u made a very valid point by suggesting to have 2 coaches.
team india has always been found wanting in one of the departments of the game, batting sometimes and bowling the other and this has been the reason why we havet becom the best team in world cricket in spite of having so much talent.
so two coaches can ensure good performance in both the departments.
