Should height be a criterion in the selection of recruits of the Army?

well said jitendar!!!!! even i feel height should not be made compulsory.after all height is god given.tallness doesnt increase bravery and nor does shortness decrease it.

Minimum height is required in Army to clear certain physical obstacles easily. This is the medical standard which has been arrived at over a period of time. The height relaxation is only available for Gurkhali troops because of the averge height of Gurkhalis are less than global average height of men.
