difference between forums and blogs

hey i wanna know the difference between blogs and forums, i have basic idea what forums are but i don't know a bit about blogs. make your answer as descriptive as possible so that i can understand. adding some example will increase your chances of making your answer the best answer.

a forum is something we can consider as owned by every respondents in it...it focuses mainly on questions and threads of answers...a blog on the other hand has a main owner...the owner can post whatever he wants on his blog...then, the viewer of his blog can make comments or responses about the stuffs he posted in his blog...

In forum, the rules are ususally a lot more limited, and you are moderated. MyLot is essentia;;y a forum. A blog is more like your diary online, and the guidelines are a lot more lenient, in most cases, and your page is yours alone.

my opinion :
1. blog should be use for share your own dailly activity like dairy book (sorry for miss spelling)
2. forum for share knowledge n other .. forum is more mass activity i think ...
