Drywall over Drop Ceiling?

My husband and I are finishing our basement. We would prefer to do drywall on the ceiling, but have heard it's more difficult than a drop ceiling. Any comments?

What about simply spraying the entire ceiling black, or some other dark color? We have many friends who have finished their basement this way and it actually turns out great. Yeah, you heard that right... Simply use a paint sprayer and make everything one color; pipes, ducts, and all... Good luck!

We learned from experience that it is hard to work with anything over head. Seems your arms are just not used to being in that postition for a lengthy period of time. That being said, it is doable. We used drywall on 3 of our new rooms. We are DIY kind of people though. You will need more than one person to do this though
