I once went to a store and used a few coupons and saved more then $30 off the original price.
You can even go to some of the sites on the internet and print out coupons.
There are also lots of coupons in the Sunday paper that can be of great value.
What is the greatest amount you have saved on one purchase?
Tell me of some of you sites you use for couponing?

At winn Dixe the weekend before my daughter was born i saved $180 on a $200 order :-) it actually made the cash register start to overheat and shut down! I had formula checks, $40 off coupon as well as baby club coupons and alot of stuff was on sale, plus I had a ton of coupons from coupon trains that I belong to :)

I cut coupons from the Sunday paper every week. I also go on coolsavings.com to print coupons. I love the savings when I go to check out. Also I collect coupons from the store that I can use.

I think you can save a lot with coupons, but only if you buy brand name items. A lot of generic or store brand things are cheaper to begin wih than brand name with a coupon. You really have to pay attention to all the prices.
Just my opinion. :)

I love coupons! My mom was a very good shopper and she always clipped coupons when I was growing up so now I find myself doing the same. They really do help a lot, especially for those must have items that are more expensive than they should be, like JIF Peanut Butter.

I went to all the trouble of clipping coupons with my daughter on Tuesday and she forgot them anyway! You can go to Target and use manufacturers coupons too. I've used internet coupons at Acme (an Albertson's company) but they no longer accept them. I typically don't use them because 1) I don't subscribe to the papers and 2) I'll buy store brand or a smaller size...bulk doesn't work if there's only 2 of you in the house!

I tend to put coupons in a drawer in the kitchen and forget about them. By the time I get to them, they've expired and have to be thrown out. My grocery store generated about three coupons on my receipts for a free loaf of French bread. When I finally used one and got the freen loaf, it was pretty good. I went to the drawer and pulled out the other two. One had expired but I used the still valid one and got another nice loaf of French bread....I have to train myself to start checking that drawer before I grocery shop.

Forgot to mention, there's also some sites out there where you can subscribe to receive the coupons you are interested in all year round. I've never used these sites, but I hear that for around $10 a year, you get much more than that in coupon savings. Plus they are already clipped and ready to use!

I do not subscribe to the newspaper, so I can't get coupns from there, but once in a while I'll get coupons in the mail.
I try to use them when I really need the item. Be careful not to buy things you wouldn't normally buy just because you have a coupon. You end up spending more money than you normally would have.
When you are using them though, make sure you go to a grocery store that doubles coupons. And if you're able to combine the coupon with an in-store sale, you can get your items for pennies.

I use lots of coupons. I use a bunch of baby sites since that's mostly what I use coupons for. I get coupons in the mail from Gerber, Huggies, Pampers, Enfamil, Similac, Good Start, Beechnut and Juicy juice. Sometimes I print out additional coupons too on Gerber's website.
We also clip coupons out of the newspaper. I don't really know what the most is that I've ever saved at once. It's not uncommon to save around $10-15 in one trip for us, though.
