Does the facelessness of online dating encourage open and honest communication or does it create more opportunities for deception

Love online is always self-deception and a virtual desire of meeting the lover perhaps in reality. I dont guess these love's wld however get stable.

Yeah it encourages deception but honest communication as well. Everything has its bad and good effects and online dating and facelessness is no different. You can see a fake person right in front of your eyes in real life and also while online dating so we can't say if its not online dating we'll be totally safe. In real life people do try out blind dating which is quite like online dating, you don't know the person's looks and personality but some of them work and some don't so its just that one should be careeful for every aspect while dating whether online or real life.
