marraige or live-in?

here's one more round of coices....shud the institution of marraige be given more importance or live-in relationships be preffered over it?....as seen today...more people have a mature attitude towards live-in relations...there's no formality...no responsibility n even no boundations of a formal marraige...n still they enjoy each other's love n company...on the other hand...marraiges r preffered for a social cause...morality????
