The + rating is for someone who you think has contributed well to your discussion and made a good impact by adding something which you think is off interest.
A - rating is for someone you feel has not added anything good to your discussion or who has not made a good post or someone who copy and pastes or spams.

+ probably mean that the response is of decent quality and I would think that over 500 including a picture.
- probably would mean that the response was hateful, or of poor quality.
The use of the ratings would be for discussions if they are not naughty, hateful, of complete thought or not.
This is my estimation and am hoping to see what others have to say.

I give a + rating if the reply stays on topic for the most part. If the poster honestly seems to be trying to help and not just posting a word, two or short sentence to bump up their earnings. I've been fortunate so far that in, most posters to my discussions are trying to be helpful and thereforth get postive rating.
Now posters who post 1 word answers, completely irrelvant responses, copy and paste others words or just responed with punctuation marks get - ratings.
I do read and rate each of my discussions as well as the rate questions I respond to.

This is against the Mylot discussion guidelines in my opinion. You are eliciting a response by promissing a rating.
