Sachin, Lara or Ponting...? who is gonna called to be the best in days to come?

Guys guys, These three are the present day pillars of dominance in weilding the willow...Wats your opinion...who is gonna be called the best batsman in days to come...Sachin is a proven master, but doesnt hav credibility in winning matches as much as Lara and Ponting do for their teams. Hundred's in test Cricket is almost same for all the three now and looks like every 1 has few yrs of cricket left in them still...though in my opinion Sachin is way ahead in ODIs than his competitors...But Test Cricket.......???

I am from indian , so i wud like to sachin in that place, the great batsman of our times, but i guess in coming days ponting will steal the show, rather he has started to do so. I guess the order will be somthing like this:
Ponting, sachin n lara.
But u never know every time the world feels that its all over from him, he come up with something great to suprise everyone-Sachin.
THats the vary greats ppl are, so lets hope that Sachin will come up with his great form to regain the glory which seems to be sliping from his hand slightly, the whole india is praying for this little man, god of cricket .

No doubt its Sachin. Game wise all the three are the best in their class. What makes Sachin a cut above the rest is his non-controversial, docile and yet highly admired persona. Lara has had his own share of controversies and discussing Ponting's behavior in response will be an insult of his brashness.

We will try here not to discuss on their personal lives and controversies..What we will try to compare is their batting prowess... Some people say, Ponting is not a good player of spinner, but of late he his playing good against spinners and probably that added skill has narrowed down the differences between his and the giants like lara and sachin.

well sachin was good.but after tennis elbow and all that his style has changed.And by seeing ponting's current run of form i can say that he will be the next king of cricketing world

I think Lara will be good.. lara has always proved it in a big way when he is in form...
Sachin when he is in form cannot still compete with lara...
Lara has always taken away matches for WI when in form, by smacking double tons n all...

hmm this is a real intresting question because:
sachin--for his temparment and wide range of strokes
ponting-for his dominance over bowlers and killer instinct
lara-for his class and elegance
its real difficult to jusdge out of them all..but i guess ponting is a bit higher than ther rest two

i think lara will be called as the big match player
ponting the sensational batsmen because he improved his techinque with his experience
and sachin will be called a great legend because he was gifted when he was very young he deftroyed best of the bowling attacks where as ponting and lara were learning the abcd of cricket
so sachin the great legend of all time

the statement given by u is right. but its just matter of time. now we are witnessing that sachin is comming back to form and he has also performed well in the last serise against south africa. sachin will come back soon and regain his position again.

In coming days i don't see anyone becoming the Best, considering there age factor. Soon we will see them retire from Cricket but not before the world cup. But if ihad to choose was the best in three of them then i will choose Ricky Ponting as he has the that killer instinct required for winning matches. This feature lacks in both but mainly in Sachin. His centuries have least helped India to win, while Ricky Ponting has several times won the match for his country, even in worst conditions.

On the basis of current form I will chose Ponting to be the best.
I'm an Indian and I belive that Tendulkar has dug a hole for himself and to come out from there will require a heroic effort.
As far as Lara is concerned, I feel he is a tremendous player and may be equally good as Ponting. But because of Ponting's amazing consistency I will chose Ponting.

As far as this question is concerned I think seeing the present form it will be Ponting.
But we should not forget what Sachin had done in the previous World Cup.
So I think it will be non other than Sachin

Well, u r right!! Sachin is the best when it comes to One Days in general. But, e1 here, his big-match performance isnt as huge as v wud like.
In tests, I think, its a tuf call.. Altho, seeing Ponting's form & consistency, especially after taking over the captaincy, it'll be hard to remove him from the list of all-time greats.. He, however, hasnt got such a gr8 record in the sub-continet, esp India.
Lara always comes up with flashes of brilliance once in a while, with his flamboyant style. But, he cant be banked upon always.
Sachin, on the other hand was pretty consistent up-untill recently, whr his form has dropped a bit. But, I'd really like him to perform better in the 3rd & 4th innings of a match.
