How long have you been using the internet? Although I have been using the computer for years, I only started using the internet about 5 or so years ago when our son set up an account for me. His idea was that it would keep me interested plus we could keep in touch with him when he is overseas and gradually I have broadened my horizons since then.

I have been using the internet for about 7 years now and I'm very happy that we can use this wonderful tool.
You can chat with people all over the world, you can get information on anything at anytime, you can play games, you can... you can... you can... the list just doesn't stop.

I am finding that the internet is brilliant for keeping in touch with people, finding out info that would take me ages from any other source plus I can get online when it suits me.

I have been using the internet for about 5 years. I did not know internet is good or bad in 2001 when i touched it. but now if i had no internet, mylife would lose it's beautiful color. when i develope a software, I will use internet to search some functions. I will use internet to communicate with my outland friends. today, I think the internet is a part of my life.

I think my dad got it at home back in about 1996?
My first search was on Keanu Reeves lol (I was 14!) and I remember thinking how many pages there were about him...but if I did it now there would be millions more!

I've been using the internet for about 6 years or so.When I first started I was hopeless.I couldn't type and only used one finger lol.My children were getting sick of me constantly asking how to do things!Now they sometimes have to ask me!

Nikki, this is one of those discussions of mine that suddenly became "unresolved", and I cannot find who I gave the best response to first time around. So, your response makes sense to me and it is the sort of response that I would have given it to the first time around.

I'm not even sure when the internet first came out anymore, but I'm pretty sure I began using it when it was available for me to use. The internet is a very valuable resource to me for a variety of reasons. I can meet people all over the world and make friends, I can do all the research I want without ever running out of sources, I have an endless database of writing communities to choose from which is helpful to me since I'm a writer, and best of all, I can attend college from the comfort of my own home, as well as work.

I cannot remember when the internet first came out but think it was around early/mid-1990's. I do know that our son first got it connected in 1996 but I had nothing to do with it at that time. LOL
For you it would be fantastic for your research as well as your studies.

About 4 years now .... my partner has had it for about 10 years ..... I didn't do too much because she had the time and I didn't ..... but then we need to check stuff out for our organic farm .... that meant I had to spend more time on it so we could both be up to date with what was happening in the industry.
At first it was only to look things up on organic farming methods and crops ...... then my partner started showing me things she found in different forums or sites she did for money .... when she was busy I would do the easy ones for her. Now I use the internet most weeks .... depending on what days I am at home and what is happening on the farm.

I have been on the internet since I was about 14 years old - thats over 11 years! wow. I don't think I would know half the stuff I know or even half the people I know now if it wasn't for the internet! I know I wouldn't have met my husband if it wasn't for AOL. =)

Hmm must be about 9 years. I remember my hubby wanted to get it and he said I would love it - especially for my writing but I wasn't convinced. I've never looked back :) Love the Net and have made so many friends, plus it's a real boon for writers to contact editors, other writers, etc.

I am sure that you are pleased that your husband convinced you to get connected to the internet Bunny. It sure is a great thing and for me one the best things is that when our son is overseas we can easily keep in touch. There have been times when I have chatted to him on MSM several days in a row. LOL

well, i ve been using internet since 8 yrs for now,...and still am using...at first i used it only for checking mails, and then, it i got more experienced in searches, and finally, my interest grew so much that i ve learnt web designing though my field of knowledge is completely different from computers...:)
