I think most of us have had to put up with socks going missing in the dryer lol. My mom has dealt with it for years and now I am too. What about other things around the house? Anything ever just dissapear and you don't know why? Not to long ago we had a set of butter knives. There were 10-15 of them I think...We've had them for years! Anyway, a few months ago I was putting away the silverwear and realized there were only 4 butter knives. I thought maybe the rest were in the dishwasher or sink but they weren't. To this day I don't know where they went lol. It's weird.

3 days ago I lost a very important note book, in which I have written and scheduled all my websites' info/stats and the things I'd be doing to them the next coupla weeks like seo and stuff (yes I still prefer to write things down instead of typing and saving stuff to pc)... I literally turned the house upside down searching for it...it was like magic....here it was next to me and the next day, *abracadabra* disappeared! No one came to my home and I'm very sure that I left it inside the pc table drawer.... If any of you might have an idea about where it might be, I'd appreciate it...

When I lose things, I pray and ask God to show me where it is. Many times I am able to find it after that. Coincedent? Maybe, maybe not.

Socks!!!!! Where do they go!!!!!?? I have so many mismatched pairs but never find the one that goes with it! Last year I was staying with my sister and my necklace went missing and I swore her cat took it and hid it somewhere in a vent (he likes to take jewelry and hair ties and bats them around) well, about a month later I found it in a pocket of one of my coats. LOl- oops my bad!

Socks missing in the laundry do not actually happen in the dryer. It happens in the washer when the sock goes under the agitator. Remove this and you may find your mother's missing socks.

Yeah as a matter of fact. LOL. I was just complaining that the card monster was at it again. I lost my debit card on Sunday and my husband has now misplaced his Lowe's business card today. Apparently either they just sprouted legs or we're going crazy. I'm leaning more towards they sprouted legs...for my own sake...

As for the butter knives... ask your husband. We have tons of tools around but mine still grabs a butter knife to use as a screwdriver sometimes, and then lays them down where ever he used them. GRRR! lol We have a huge can full of batteries that is always in the same place... somehow it grew legs and walked away. This weekend I pulled the couch out to clean the window behind it and found 3 almost full cans of snuff... and of course me and the kids are the ones that had to listen to his griping when he couldn't find them all those times! lol But in his defense our 2 yo does like to get them and dump them out in the trash can... lol if the man would just learn to put them up where the kids couldn't reach them.

I think that I've probably lost a few things that I never even realized were gone, lol.. two things that still stick in my mind were two different favorite cassettes of mine that had things on them that I can now never replace. Well, one was replacable, but the other one wasn't.. and to this day, I still don't know what happened to it. We almost tore up the house looking for it at one point! *laugh* I'm sorry for your lost silverware! And man, it seems like everyone loses socks. There must be somewhere in the world where there is a huge stockpile of lost socks, lol! *laugh*

yeah, I've experienced that too. it's kind of funny actually when you've been looking for the object all over the place only to find it in front of you or hanging on your body, lol. talk about your own eyeglass. don't know... things have this knack of appearing only when you no longer have a need for them.

Ha, I thought I was the only one that lost silverware. For some reason our forks and spoons just seem to disappear over time and we have no idea how. They all usually stay in the same place. Also, and this is the most annoying one, our car keys seem to want to hide from us! Without fail, either me or husband lose our car keys in the house on a daily basis.

Car keys, cell phones and cordless phones are the things I misplace the most. I actually call the phone I am looking for to find it. It used to be my car keys but I have vowed that I will put them in a certain place when I come into the house. Has worked so far but like all resolutions, it may not last. LOL

I was changing my daughter's sheets the other day and tossed aside a stuffed animal that has just vanished into thin air. We can't find it anywhere, and she's very upset because she just got it for christmas. It was on the bed, and it didn't get mixed in with the diry sheets, it's not mixex up with the blankets, it's not under the bed... it's just gone.

My laces in my sneakers always seem to come up missing. Its strange because i have no children and i would hate to have to think that my boyfriend is stealing them for whatever reasons. Everytime i bring the subject up, everyone looks at me as if i'm the crazy one.

This drives me mad. Socks, teaspoons and pens are the worse for me. I wouldn't mind if they turned up again but they don't. Why is it as well, that when you are looking for something you have lost, you always find something else you have lost? This happens to me all the time. Maybe there's a conspiracy. Manufacturers have invented a built in combustion devise inside one sock in every pair and in the night it spontaneously combusts, making us then have to buy more socks!!

Well, we have similar things happening here. Missing things but they reappear in a few days or hours. I have a belief that something or someone on the other side of our dimension is borrowing things from us. I know it's weird but I know and i believe.

Yes, socks disappear in the dryer and the smaller the socks (ie baby socks), the more likely they are to disappear! As for silverware, it disappears into the trash can around here. As much as we try to avoid it, a knife or a spoon gets swept up with the dirty napkins and over time, they do disappear! That's a lesson to be especially careful with good silver or pieces that you really like! Other stuff that disappears are the kids homework, library books, and other clothing (that shirt your daughter just HAS to wear TODAY can never be found!!)

Happens to me all the time. I just say someone stole it. If my favorite shirt is missing, someone must have come into my house, ignored all my jewelery and just stole my shirt, and my scissors and every thing else that comes up missing.

Jennifer you are too funny. I usually say I sold it in my garage sale, if I lose something. Your response was funny, and I felt the need to comment it.

In my house, it's the case of the disappearing Tupperware. Every time I turn around I have the lids to my Tupperware, but not the bowls. I have no idea where they do. I do not work, so I don't take them out of the house and my husband runs the roads all day long, so he is never in a fixed place to take his lunch. I think the pixies and gremlins come in at night and take them. Or it could be the famed "I don't know" ghost.

You know I have the same problems!! I have a the worst problem with socks. I have a whole sock bag full of odd socks, and can't find the pairs anywhere!!! I have a problem with my spoons. I can't even count how many times I have to go and buy another bundle of spoons because mine are all missing. And just about this time of the year, I loose gloves and hats like nothing. I have already gone threw two with my son and up to five with my daughter!!! They are always lost!!!

My cat's toys disappear frequently. I've looked everywhere and still can't find 3 mice and 5 noisy plastic balls! I have no idea where my cat stashed them. Twenty years from now I know I'll find them and go "So there you were!" :D

Oh yes sure things around the house have gone missing, but yes one night my husband had his glasses on and when I came into the room as he had been reading he put them down on the carpet, but when I finished talking to him he went to pick his glasses back up but they were not there it was so strange I came back into the lounge room and walked around as I seen where he had put them I said oh dear that is strange how could they just disappear anyway after about 20 minutes he called me and showed me that they had been returned so this was really weird as I had walked in that place looking down for the glasses that weren't there when I had been there and he had looked there as well so this was really weird.

The weirdest thing that every disappeared at our house was my mother's teeth!!!!! She wore a partial denture that she removed each night before she went to bed. One morning when she went to brush her teeth and put in her partial, it was missing. We all helped her look for it. We searched everywhere, tore the house apart, looking under the sofa cushions, under beds, everywhere we could think of and it never showed up.

I HATE this! It seems like it is happening more and more lately. I cannot keep scissors. I have had about 10 pairs of scissors in the last month and they all disappear. I don't find any clues as to where they went, they are just gone. I have also had the missing socks in the dryer happen many times....how strange...
