I didn't speak English Three years ago but now I am speaking and also writing in mylot. I am happy that I learnt English. I was thinking that I will never speak English but after I worked in a publik place at the airport I am now speaking it. I never went to school to learn English I learnt myself by just copying the people.

Just practice speak with as much people as possible. Of course these people have to bee fluent English speaking people. I also practice my English every day by posting in this internet forum and studieng. I study every day new English words.

1. Read engish newspaper thoroughly 2. Listen to news in radio (not in TV) BBC world news 3. Try to talk to people in English most of the time. 4. Try to write a diary (lengthy write up) in english and read it next day. You will be able to correct your own english. 5. There are some sites where one can learn grammar easily.

It must be really hard to get into English, especially considering the extreme use of slang. Well done.

speak a lot in english. start with your family persons who would support you and guide you when you make mistakes rather than laugh at you. As you gain hold and confidence begin in public.

The only best n simple thing is to read newspapers, read it whenever ur free..while reading it use a dictionary to mark out the words for which u dunno the meaning n thn make a note of it, this way u can learn gud english very easily n quickly, I hav done tht n I am the only person to givw presentations at my college n also at my work place...infact I am doing it even now...u never stop hunting for new words when u get used to it....gud luck man

If you don’t have any English speaking people around you then read a book out loud, if some words are tricky make sure to go back and read them. Also writing, when you write often you’ll mentally relay the word which should help with speech. If you're unsure of how a word sounds search online, most sites have speech pronunciation.

the best way to improve is talk to your friends. i presume you know english well but have difficulty in speaking fluently. in that case the above said is the best option. try it and see wonders.

The best way would be to practice. Either visit an English speaking place or get a friend who can speak/is learning to speak English and then practice together.

Want to 'neutralise' your accent? Many deserving candidates lose out on job opportunities because of their vernacular accent. Yes, you can. All you need to do is train yourself to speak English as comfortably and perfectly as you speak your mother tongue. How do you train yourself? By inculcating certain practices in your daily lifestyle. These will get you closer to sounding like a native English speaker and equip you with a global accent -- and you will speak not American or British English, but correct English. This is the first step to learn any other accent, be it American or British or Australian. Lisa Mojsin, head trainer, director and founder of the Accurate English Training Company in Los Angeles, offers these tips to help 'neutralise' your accent or rather do away with the local twang, as you speak.
