Water Births - Bad or Good?

So I am pregnant with my second child, and I am seriously considering a water birth. I had my first son without any problems or any drugs, and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I won't say it didn't hurt, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. This time around my husband and I are discussing the possibilities of a water birth, because of everything I have heard/learned about them. I worked for a Chiropractor for awhile and I just learned about the stress that gets put on not only your body, but your child's body during the birthing process. It literally made me sick to my stomach. I started to research water births and I found out that it is supposed to be a more natural process for the baby. Not only does sitting in a tub of nice warm water relax your muscles and make you feel good, it helps when you give birth. Then after the baby is born, it is born into not such harsh conditions, and the baby has more time to soak up what is happening/going on around them. Basically you get to see how your baby looks when it is inside your belly, how it moves, functions, everything! Then as soon as you take your baby out of the water, they take their first breath (their lungs don't expand until they hit the air) and most moms never get to see that because we are laying on our backs and have to miss out on the entire thing! Anyways, would you ever consider a water birth? Why or why not? Or have you ever had one? And how was your experience?

First, I am a lot older than you, so my posts may not be as relevant as a younger person's. I had a sister in law that had a "LeBoyer" style birth her second child, and I am not sure about the third and fourth, we did not live near each other. She was very satisfied with it, and felt like it was a gift to that child. He had some hyper tendencies and fussiness later, and they felt like the more gentle birth prevented him from having more problems. I think if I lived somewhere where it was available, I would have liked it a lot.
