i think you should wear what you are comfortable with, if the skirts are too short for you either make your own or wear trousers, i dont bother much and show as much flesh as i can get away with

YEs, its important that you are comfortable wearing a skirt be it short or otherwise. SHort skirts are generally difficult to sit it and then stand or run etc. So i guess thats why you are searching for a normal length skirt. I think you might get one in office clothes as those have to be of a decent lenght

I really don't like to show a lot of skin. I had exactly the same problem as you when i was shopping for a skirt for my holidays. They were all mini skirts and i just don't feel comfortable in them. Maybe you could check the internet?

I try to wear mine right at the knee or maybe an inch above. I am very short, so wearing them below the knee tends to make me appear even more dumpy. Too short, well, the world is not ready for my thighs. So yeah, at the knee is good for me!

It depends on my mood & occassion. I am sometimes wearing a backless top or skirt.

I have a hard time finding skirts and shorts the length I want them to be. I don't like them to be so short. Sometimes I have to search real hard.

Even I am not fond to show my skin, I wear clothes that show only my hands and two feet, no leg or arm. Sometimes when I am searching for readymade dresses with long sleeves then shop owners suggest me to wear burka, a dress which covers from head to toe only eyes are visible.

i don't really show much skin as i don't feel comfortable wearing skirts etc. i always wear trousers, but most of the time when ive been shopping, i rarely see a long skirt, i think it must be in the fashion range to wear a short skirt these days.

yah same with you i can only wear a skirt at only an inch or two higher from my knees. i can be that modest & i won't feel comfortable also of a mini mini skirts or shorts. i'd rather have an outfit that would be of comfort than being seen to be sexy but concious of how i can sit or climb stairs that i won't show off much of my deepest skin!

No, I am the same way. I think I haven't felt comfortable in a real short skirt since I was maybe 18. Ann Taylor has lots of knee length skirts, that's where I get mine. I know they are pricey, but they have really good sale racks. Just an idea. :)

Well, i used to work in a bar/night club as an assistant manager bu i also used towaitress and bartend and then i have to say that i showed alot of skin at times. Although i made my tip money from my bubbly, fun and spontaneous personality i used to do rather well also! If it is too go out or casual i just like to wear jeans and a nice shirt and i usually wear a light zip up type sweater over to match in case i get cold or just want to cover up a little more ... LOL!

I know how you feel. I quite honestly prefer nice knee length skirts as well, compared to something that may be much shorter. That just isn't for me personally.. I don't feel comfortable wearing something such as that.. And if I was to wear something like that I'd only want my other half to see me in something like that.. As I feel the most comfortable around him..
I don't know to me there's a fine line between classy, as well as trashy. To me I think it's okay to show a little skin, but I think some people need to be cautious to not go to far.. At least that is how I feel about the matter.. But everyone has there own way of doing things..
I'd say go with what makes you feel most comfortable.. Don't go past your comfort zone if you know wearing a skirt that is even shorter will make you feel out of place.
I know personally the most skin I will show is a little cleavage.. But I don't go over the top as I know what my comfort zone is.. And I like to dress rather classy when it comes to dressing up..
I hope you find the skirt you are looking for.. As I know how difficult it is to find one that is below the knee or slightly above.. I feel they should make a variety of different skirts that have different lengths to them so they can please everyone who may enter there store.. But sadly some stores only cater to one type of person.. I think it may all depend where you are going shopping though to.. There are some shops still out there in this world that cater to everyone of us out there in this world.. They are just difficult to find!

Yes, it's indeed the trend to be wearing with short skirts, but more importantly, you should be comfortable with what you wear. Your preference for knee lenght skirt doesn't mean you are too modest. You might look better is knee lenght than short skirts? Just be yourself. :)

No, I don't believe you are too modest. The amount of skin to show depends on many things, like the age of woman who is wearing it, her weight/shape, and, last but not least, the place. I read, Coco Chanel didn't ever make a skirt, which showed knee. She was convinced, very few women have knees nice enough to show, and she wanted her collections be suitable for everyone. And at work an ultra-mini skirt would be a faux-pas, especially when one is working with clients. I can't afford that a client is more interested in my legs than what I'm talking to him...

Length is all about the occasion, and the age of the wearer. As it sounds like you are searching for a nice knee length skirt, I would check out Nordstroms and Bebe, which both offer beautiful options. I personally prefer a pencil skirt, but own tulips and A-lines as well. I think every girl should own some minis, but I couldn't even tell you the last time I wore one and it is blasse in the winter months unless you're in Socal.
