What is the school attendance year like where you live?

I live in central Kansas, and in most of the United States public schools run from the end of August to the end of May, give or take a week or two. The kids have eight to ten weeks off in June, July and August. I know that that is not haow it is everywhere. When do your kids attend school during the year?

Holiday - Too many holidays
Here in Ireland both Primary and Secondary school terms start at the beginning of Sept. There is a mid term break of two weeks at the end of Oct and then two weeks holidays at Christmas. There is another two weeks mid term break in Feb followed by two weeks holidays at Easter. Secondary schools close at the end of May for Summer holidays and Primary schools close at the end of June. I really think they get too many holidays.

We attend about 188 days a year in our school district. It does seem like you get a lot of extended holidays.

Our children go to school from the end of January, and end in December, they have many holidays here and always normally have a break every 10 weeks, except as Christmas time they have 6 weeks off school, that is how our system works here in Austalia.

We start here around the beginning to middle of August and are out by the second or third week of May.
