I find this book great fun. I never get bored of reading it or watching the movie. I have been a big fan of Diana Wynne Jones for ages now, she is just such a great author. What about you guys? Ever read it?

Is it a good book? I like Diana Wynne Jones too. I think she is an amazing writer! I'm currently reading Hexwood now. Will find Howl's Moving Castle soon.

Ditto! I have loved her for about three years. Chrestomanci is brilliant and I have Mixed Magics and Black Maria on tape as well.

If you like DWJ you should definitely find and read this book! It's one of her best I think right up there with the Chrestomanci tales! Hold on to your copy when you find it though because I swear my book has gone on a journey of it's own like the moving castle itself! I have not been able to find it to reread. It has apparently disappeared from my house!

Yes I have, more than once too! I have read quite a lot of DWJ books and Howl's is definitely one of my favorites and I think it's one of her best. I do agree, Diana Wynn Jones is an excellent author. I love how she writes, you just never know how it will end, it's quite unpredictable and always entertaining and funny. Howl's is no exception! I wish I knew where my copy of this book has disappeared to, cuz I have been wanting to re-read for so long now, yet I cannot seem to find the book. I swear it has done a vanishing act, just like the castle in it!

It is a great book, and the film adaption was amazing. I loved both stories, even though they were very different in places. I loved the characters and the way it played around with fairy and folk tale cliches and standards. I have yet to read the sequel, but I've heard it's very good.

Hrmm...The sequel wasn't at all what I expected. I'll leave it there. :)

Yeah. xD It's quite a different plot though. The first halfs mostly the same, but it changes a lot.
