I think the cop wont be defeated...he wont let this go! Once he finds out that Cutty was lying and House is still on vicatin, I think he will find all that out and that the staffer was giving him pills and House will still end up in jail at some point...whether they drag it out and end the series that way at some point, or whether thats how they end the season, or carry it out...I just dont think it will end this easily.

I didn't really think about it, but I don't think he'll give up. I think that the judge will see, though, that House saves lives that no one else could save so I think they'll let him go on taking his medicine because he works better with it.

The cop is not going to give up. He will continue to follow House around and try to catch him doing something else. The cop just can't get over the fact that he got a thermometer put in his behind. He needs to get over it and leave House alone.
