does it matter if there is any grammatical mistake in your discussions?

well,i have this thought since i joined mylot.since we are interacting with thousands of people they seem to judge you only through your proper sequence of words, your expressing style etc.so,do spend a little time in analysing your knowledge of language and pronunciation.it is very important that you pronounce the word properly.because of mispronouncing 'like' as 'k-ike' i received a warning from mylot to reword my letter.so,take care in expressing your thoughts and all the best.

Hi friend, mylot is the place to improve our language, so don't worry about your grammar, you can learn a lot with your experience. Mylot warning is not for grammar mistakes, may be you used some forbidden words, so only mylot warns you to reword. Fellow mylotters are very friendly and they can understand our thoughts with our bad English

Grammatical errors are inevitable and they must be littered all over Mylot. This is not a major issue because there are many people here from all walks of life. The important factor is the actual content and subject of a discussion. As long as the discussion is one of interest to some people then it is a welcome addition to Mylot.
Considering the vast number of members who are speaking English as a second language, being strict about grammar and spelling would be absurd.

I didn't actually take a course in higher English before coming on MyLot, as I always thought that my English was acceptable and understood. I try as often as possible to proof read my response before pressing the submit button but sometimes I still make errors. I cannot understand how all the people who use cellphone texts on their postings can get away with it. It takes me forever to try to read them.

it should not matter...just try to write clear and easy to understand responses...although correct grammar and typo-error-free responses would be great...the important thing is that we are able to communicate and understand each other...i'm sure we can all improve our grammar soon...consider this community as a medium to practice your english...i too is a non-native speaker of english..
