not an effort to offend anybody....i love this band....but i so loved tom morello in RATM and chris cornell in soundgarden...they r great in audioslave too.....i mean, it made way more sense then...the lyrics, the music, et al....so what does everybody think...is the current supergrp combination better than the previous bands or is it the other way round????

Audioslave is an awesome band and I really love them too, but comparing them to RATM or Soundgarden? That's quite tough... Anyways in my opinion each band has its own distinct sound so for me they are all great.

No no, Audioslave is the worst among Soundgarden and RATM. Soundgarden were one of the most innovative bands in 80s-90s...all the grunge-alternative rock came from Soundgarden and few other bands. RATM was quite cool while Audioslave produced nothing really relevant (they made only revisitations of already existing things).

The way i see it.. Audioslave combines the best of both bands...(i couldn`t get the hang of the rapping in RATM)... Mix Tom Morello`s out-of-this-world guitar sounds to Chris`s feeling-drenched crooning and u`ve got a lethal combination and they couldn`t have got a tighter bass and drums backup..

I love all of the above - Audioslave just made me go back & do it all again & again & again.
