Renewable Energy

I read this morning that the European Commission are planning to publish a report recommending/demanding that 20% of Energy comes from REenewable energy sources by 2020.
Do you think this is achievable?
Fossil fuel supplies are unstable and will run out eventually. Nuclear power has it's own obvious problems.
