Thanks!
I know we won't be able to start the lessons anytime soon, unless a miracle happens (we're short on money right now)
But we both would love to learn so maybe sometime in the near future we will be able to.
I found a place that teaches all sorts of dances near where we live & the first lesson is free, which is really cool.

Formally, I've only learned two dances. Line and Square dancing. I learned those many years ago in elementary school. We had to do it in gym class, lol. I've been taught by friends some other dances. But I agree, Hip Hop dancing is a hard one to learn. Good luck!

I've taken dance since I was 5. Ballet, Jazz, Tap, African, Hip-Hop/Breakdance, Modern, Salsa, Merengue, Belly Dance, Tango, and classical Indian (once). I think I want to take-up classical Indian dance more seriously.

You should try.. i'm not sure if you have any dance studios that gives trial classes like what they do here.. if they do, you should go and try out the classes and see what you like before signing up for them =)

Starting on Friday I am going to be learning how to salsa dance, I am so excited. I have been on a weight loss mission and getting braces and now learning how to salsa dance. I am very excited about all of these things I am sure that I am going to feel a lot better about myself when I look better and enjoy my life more. Oh yeah, I am attempting to quit smoking before the braces go on too!!!

I hear that swimming is really good for you. I absolutly hate exercise but I really like dance and I guess I like how I feel when I work out, its the actual work I dont like. I do several videos and the girl I babysit for has an eliptical machine and I have a treadmill so I am able to save money on a gym membership or equipment. I wish you sucess as well. Just keep your eyes on the prize is what I tell myself!!

Dancing is wonderful exercise, although I am not very good at it. I have never had any formal dancing training, although when I was at school all those long years ago, we did learn ballroom dancing. Or should I say, we had lessons in ballroom dancing.
Good on you BLesseDmiN for taking dancing lessons and I hope that by now you have mastered the art.

Yes, I learnt 'old time' dancing (it's basically like ballroom) when I was younger, I even won medals for it. :)

I love dance! As a child I studied ballet, jazz, tap, modern, ethnic, and as an adult I studied belly dance, flamenco, and african dance!

I leaned Salsa and Swing.
They are so much fun.
I just love being twirled around.
It is great exercise too!
