Why Tag My Own Discussion When I Comment?

If I begin the discussion and tag it why would I need to also tag the comments I give to the responses. I understand the reason for the tags, but my discussion has already been catergorized with tags. My comments will more than likely be the same tags. Does this really matter to tag everything?

I know but my discussion is already tagged, why should I tag my comment about my own discussion. The tags will be the same. Only if I go way off topic should my comment tags change from the original topic. If that happens then I shouldn't even be here. LOL

It is for other users to search and make sure they do not repeat the same topic. Sometimes it does not work and we have similar discussions going on.

I tag everything because it has become a habit for me. I will usually only input 1 or 2 tags for a reply on my own discussion. just enough to sum up what my reply was about.

It does seem as though it is an unnecessary step, put I am
anxious to read the responses that you receive...SS
