Why Tag My Own Discussion When I Comment?

If I begin the discussion and tag it why would I need to also tag the comments I give to the responses. I understand the reason for the tags, but my discussion has already been catergorized with tags. My comments will more than likely be the same tags. Does this really matter to tag everything?

The tags help other users find your post.

I know but my discussion is already tagged, why should I tag my comment about my own discussion. The tags will be the same. Only if I go way off topic should my comment tags change from the original topic. If that happens then I shouldn't even be here. LOL

It is for other users to search and make sure they do not repeat the same topic. Sometimes it does not work and we have similar discussions going on.

But the discussion is already tagged, my comment is going to be tagged the same because my comment is going to about the topic or it should be.

I tag everything because it has become a habit for me. I will usually only input 1 or 2 tags for a reply on my own discussion. just enough to sum up what my reply was about.

But your comment is going to be about the discussion. Or it should be about the discussion you started.

I guess it is in case your comment to someone mentions something else that could be added to the tags. So your topic can be found with more searches. I always skip it though lol.

I am going to start skipping it too because I am just repeating my tags and it is slowing down my progress.

For this reason there is a -skip-bottonnera to the place you write your tag.Doesn't need you tag evertime if you din't want lose time. After all replay your tag at your own discussion don't help you for anything.

It does seem as though it is an unnecessary step, put I am anxious to read the responses that you receive...SS

I only ever enter tags if it's the first time I have posted on a particular discussion. I see no point in tagging the same thread more than once.

I don't understand it either. It doesn't seem like there is any point to retagging it.
