Which is the greatest sin

Well I would say the greatest sin is the one you actually commit. :) Other than that I would think murder is right up there. If you lie to someone you can confess and ask them to forgive you. If you cheat them you can always repay them and ask for forgiveness but if you murder them, well you get my point. After murder I would committing adulty because that one usually involves the lying and cheating parts, so it compounds your sin.

I would have to say cheat. If you lie, it is not always necessarily a bad thing, because you can tell lies to make someone feel better. That's why I don't think lying is all that bad, unless you do it over and over again. I think cheating is the worst, because cheating is always bad, especially if you cheat on your loved one! then you are in trouble!

I'm not sure that you can grade sins, but I do agree that lying is very bad. The problem with lying is that it errodes people's trust and respect in you and it is hard to recover it.

The greatest sin is despair; to loose one hope and faith without that you are nothing, and can be led down a nasty path of darkness. Though lying is horrible, you can rectify this by making the truth apparent, where as with a the former it can take a life time to aquire again, if ever.
