Guys what do you think about women going fishing and hunting? Do you wish your wife or girlfriend would go with you? Women do you think these are sports that should be left to the men? Would you go with your husband or partner if they asked? I personal just started to hunt this year and can't wait until next season. But now is time to fish and I love fishing and have since I was a kid. What do you all think.

I have been fishing my entire life. My parents always took us camping and fishing and we still do it now. I think if you are going to be in any type of sport then you should be able to do everything you need to do without having to have someone else bait you hook or anything else. I always took my children and now they love it also. This is great family time.

it would be good to have a women come with me
none of my ex.s have been the hunting/fishing type
but i only fish in winter very cold round here
and its not so much hinting as sniper lay up for hours to get the longest possible shot
so think it would bore most people

I thought it would be boring when my husband explained it to me its a hurry up and wait when you go hunting. But there's so much to look at when you are waiting. It is rather cold could do without that but next year I will even be ready for that. am gunna be one toastie mama at in the woods...lol Thanks for responding. I don't know why more women don't get involved with stuff like this

I love to go fishing, I don't have the heart to go hunting though. I'd be crying when "Bambi's dad" got shot lol. I definitely don't think these are things that should "be left to the men". My husband and I take the kids fishing all the time, and when the boys are old enough I'm sure they'll go hunting with their dad too.

My husband is a hunter and I walk with him while he hunts. I help spot game and have even been "dog" for him to move the game. I could get a hunting license if I wanted to because I took the hunter safty course and passed with flying colors. I also know how to fish. Grew up fishing. My husband enjoys when I go hunting and fishing with him. He asks if I want to go with him. It is a time of companionship for us. My middle daughter has gone hunting with my husband several times as well. We don't have any boys. My oldest daughter prefers shooting targets. and my youngest can shoot and has also taken the hunter safty course doesn't really care for hunting or shooting although she loves eating wild game. Sometimes I would take a book along to read while my husband hunted or fished. Just depended on what mood I was in.

I love fishing with my hubby! I could never hunt though. Not too long ago I was outside feeding my dogs and cats and there was this big buck standing right in the middle of the road and this truck and car were stopped behind it. The buck wouldn't move. It was like he was frozen or something. Then the truck moved forward and bumped him. It didn't look like he bumped him hard but the buck only walked up into the woods a little ways but still just stood there. So the guy in the truck said something to the guy in the car and took off. I was standing there wondering why the buck wouldn't move. He was in the woods now but still just standing in one spot. So then a few minutes later the guy came back and parked by our mailbox and I saw him pull out a bow and arrow. I said "awww don't kill him." He said that he was hurt pretty bad from when he bumped him with the truck. It didn't look like he hit him that hard. Anyway he went up and shot him and the buck took off but he ran after him and I suppose he must have got him because he then went back to his truck and drove up to the side of the road where the deer must have been. I couldn't watch so I went inside. Sometimes I wonder if maybe he was just using where he bumped him for an excuse to kill him and take him home. I felt bad for the poor thing. So I could definitely never kill a deer or anything else. When we fish we throw them back in. We just do it for the sport and not to eat them. I am a big animal lover. I live on a small farm and have 4 dogs and 8 cats.

Interesting. makes me wonder if people had been feeding the deer and maybe that is why he had no fear of the vehicles. Never know the deer could have been ill because if it stood in the road then just stood there after it got off long enough for the guy to get his bow and then get ready to shoot. Most deer would have ran at the first site of the car if not a guy pulling bow on him. Hmmm one of those things that make you go hmmmmm. I love animals as well have 3 dogs 1 cat 3 hermit crabs and a bearded dragon. thanks for responding

I love fishing with my husband! It's a little competative, but it's still a lot of fun (and I get a great tan doing it ;)). I'm still learning to have a little more patience with it though. Hunting is a little harder because it is cold. If I could hunt in 70 or 80 degree weather, I think I would be okay. I know it would be okay if I got a big buck. lol.
As far as leaving them to men, NO WAY! I know too many women that love fishing and a few that like to hunt. Why should men get all the fun? Besides, the women I know (myself included) are better than their men.

My husband and I have been married over 35 years (we both fished all our lives) and raised 5 kids on fishing. It's a wonderful sport that doesn't cost anything except for a one time cost of a fishing pole for the kids. We always dug our own night crawlers. Talk about quality family time..

My father used to take me hunting and fishing when I was younger (so I do know how to do both)... the problem is that I don't really like to do either because I hate being outside for any extended period of time.

See the days have changed, the society is under transformation. There is no bar now for women to undertake any kind of works.
Today the women are liberated but the irony is that they have not come out of the clutches of Exploiters in the society who misuse the liberty of women in the name of developments.
Hence I believe the subject you have brought here is to be voted YES.

I don't think there is anything wrong with a woman going fishing or hunting. I don't go hunting but I'll go fishing with my hubby sometimes. I make him put the worm on the hook for me though cause there is no way I'm touching that LOL. And I don't take the fish off the hook either. I just like to go so I can spend some time with him. My mother in law go fishing and hunting and she enjoys both so I don't see anything wrong with it.

hmmmm ya don't bait your hook or take the fish off..giggles should try it once. The have lures if you don't want to try live bait. and if you don't want to touch the fish try a glove or gloves or even wrap a towel around it until you get use to it. This way gives your hubby more fishing time...giggles
