If mylot didn't pay would you still visit the site & participate in discussions?

I will say, unashamedly, that I am here to make money, and most likely would not come here to discuss if they stopped offering money. And, it's because I want to make money that I try to give well thought out responses that are on topic to the discussions. The way I see it, they tell you upfront that making money is part of the deal, so there's no shame in wanting the money. Doesn't mean you don't put in an honest effort. Plus, I can and do easily participate in discussions in other places that don't offer any incentive other than discussion, so mylot isn't essential just on the basis of discussions. If mylot had never offered money, I might have stumbled on it and started participating. (Although, I usually prefer sites that are about one general topic, rather than a free for all.) But, since they have offered money, I won't stay if they ever decided to change it.

I certainly will and I'm sure many will do the same. I know that some are making money but it seems to me that many are enjoying the interaction. It is easier to find people to interact with sensibly and decently here than in the chat rooms. Good question.

i will visit it like i do it now...because i do it not for money..i found very good information here,i made many friends...i earn here only cents for now...i think its the best discussion forum in all the internet...

i think if mylot didn't pay, there would be lesser discussions, lesser interactions. on my opinion, a lot of people only comes here for the money. they post and respond to discussions even without reading what the discussion is about just to get points. so i really dont think that not paying people is a good idea.

Oh sure! Its just like myspace in a way. I like to discuss things and post up topics and get peoples feedback on things. This is somewhat like myspace. I'm a stay at home mom and need to do something on my spare time. I just signed up today and hopefully hear what others opinions. take care.

It is true that the many response are not to that extent but some of the responses are really worth reading. I have posted a few discussions just visit and find the answers some are really worth reading and are very good . In may other discussions i found answers worth reading. Ya u r right tht some of them might not be worth reading but the algo used by mylot determines also the quality answers also u can rate the answers to determine the points so I dont think tht stopping the money would make mylot a place of quality discussions but would decrease the amount of people working here

My first motive to visit this site was to earn money so if mylot will not pay me i might loose interest and slowly and gradually stop visiting the site at all

to be honest, i do not think i would be a part of mylot if there was not money involved. i feel that relationships built on the internet are superficial and not true relationships. also, i'm a college student. i'm so busy with class and work and volunteering and leadership that it sometimes feel like a burden (that's why i currently only have 54 posts). but, i strongly believe in doing everything i do to the best of my ability. so, when i post a comment on here, it is never just to get points. i take my time with every post. by the way...one time i ate a fortune cookie and the fortune said "you will be invited to a karaoke party." i still haven't been invited to one.....

I would definately still get on. i'm going to be honest. When I first came to mylot i only joined for the money. But since I've been on I really enjoy the disscusions. They give me insight to what others think about different topics and I also use some of these topics in my papers for school. Mylot is a great place to be!

Well, I'm working pretty darned hard to make my 30 cents a day, but then, I'm trying to put fourth some honest input. I know what your saying completely, since I too have put a few things out there only to get some really stupid answers; however, I have also gotten some really good ones, and some in between ones. Personally, I would still write without pay. I also have a great fortune cookie story, so I'm going to find your profile and see if I can't answer that one. :0)

i would i love answering Q's.but i like that theres something like mylot that pays.

I have just started on this site and I love it. I think I would continue comming to this site since I have been having a lot of fun posting on the site. I like to talk about politics and other topics that are very touchy subjects. I am glad that I get to make a little money though. I still have a lot to learn about this site. The other thing I like to talk about is my kid and my rabbit and have been able to talk about both on this site. This is the best site that I have been on so far. Hope it stays up for a long while.

Yes, yes, yes!! My first post was about how depressed I was, and I think what I really was feeling was just lonely. I think having people to talk("talk to" meaning "type to") has made me feel great, to have the ability to share ideas and read other poeple thoughts has been a monumental move in the right direction for me. Yeah, it is good to discuss certain topics on mylot. Few are really discussion but i can understand tht!!!!

For me, Mylot is a way for me to be socially connected to all kinds of people.....I am a stay at home Mom, and I also homeschool my kids, so I obviously don't get a chance to socialize very often. The money is a nice gesture from Mylot, but unless you have the time to be sitting at your computer all day long, every day, you will not make a whole lot of money. Even if Mylot didn't pay a single cent, I would still enjoy coming here and reading all the different points of view, and posting my own opinions.

Whether mylot pay for us or not, I've no problem at all. We are here to join discussion. People are interested in discussion because, on the user page it is written some dollar as mylot earning. Due to this dollar we are interested. myLot is same as orkut, the only difference is, mylot earning. In orkut, we cannot earn money, we gain only knowledge but here in mylot we can earn both learning and earning. thanx

ofcourse i would still visit this site even if they remove their earning programs,.coz its just like nothing even they pay us in posting here..bcuz their reward earnings is not that big..perhaps i always had a spirit posting even in some sites that dont offer earnings...yeah i noticed also what you have noticed..but lets just take them for granted they have their own..why bother..just live life as it is..

Even I joined with the idea of making some money from Mylot, as people respond to my discussions, I really wonder how they exchange their views on the discussion. Its a very healthy sign as it makes me forget about the money that I going to get but just have the fun.
