I would say that last night was not their best script ever. It was very predictable... no twist really.. well except for the part when Phillip comes in and admits to having protected love-making with Valerie.
I think the most unpredicted part of the movie was when Valerie got burned. Sprayed with gasoline and it turns out her husband did try to kill her.
I love this show but I though it was very distrubing when they showed the father and the girl in Central Park and he's like "I killed you mother" dude she is only 12 why make life worse for her.
I do agree that they were both out to get each other and that Valerie brought it upon herself that her husband got violent.
Towards the end when you hear Valerie's voice scream when they are cleaning the 4th and 3rd degree burns make me almost ill. How painful! What did you think about last nights episode?

I think that's what she deserved. Why? Because she lied about her rape! If her Ex would of faced a jury they would of all voted for GUILTY! Like Benson said he was pushed to the edge! Anyway yeah I think it's one of the best episodes and I loved the ending when Stabler and Benson were talking. They rarely do that! Anyway I think Stabler and his wife will get back together! They have to!

I was in and out of the living room, trying to watch SVU while making my kitchen mouse proof so the little mousy who moved in would go away. But overall, it didn't really thrill me. I did like that Stabler was justified, I was getting a little annoyed at Benson for being all "It's just because of your divorce that you think like that, you're supposed to sympathize with the victim." The victim was obviously vindictive. The only thing I don't get then is the shower scene in the opener. Was she actually grabbed out of the shower? What happened there?

Yes, her husband admitted that he grabbed her out of the shower, and he shook her, but he DID NOT rape her.
I agree with you about Benson being completely ridiculous with Stabler with all of her comments.

In situations such as this people say and do things that make us shake our heads. Who knows why the character told his daughter what he did. Maybe it was to open her eyes to the realization of what spousal abuse is. She was delusional to the fact of why her parents were not together. Maybe he didn't want her to fall into the same situation in her adult life. It was very disturbing. It was very well done and sheds light to the domestic violence issues.

I liked it. It wasn't as good as some of their shows. I knew right away that she was out for blood when she said her husband raped her.
Didn't she think they would find the guy she slept with. Do you think that Olivia and her partner will get together this year(Elliot). Had a memory loss there for a second.
I think they should but after last night I don't know if they could get along long enough. I guess in telling his daughter was better than her hearing it from someone else. Like kids or other parents.

Do you think maybe all the arguing maybe weaving one of them off the show? Maybe one of them said this si their last season or something and they are arguing a lot and one will leave?

I saw it. It was really good. They really had me convinced that he was innocent and that she was just out for revenge so when the scene came where she was burned I was in shock cause I didn't see that coming. I know they depict many of these shows on true stories and there was that lady who tried to get a restraining order against her husband and the judge said no. Then the husbands shows up at her work and pours gasoline on her and lights her on fire. She has suffered so much and gone through numerous operations. My heart went out to this lady. By far SVU is one of my favorite shows.

I did not like it. I think they could have done a lot more with it. Thanks for posting.

If you didn't watch it, and you had no quality response, why did you even bother to post at all??

I to think that telling the 12 year old was like OMG. Why do that. The episode was good but I wonder how many people will take it to an extreme and start saying thier spouse drove them to insanity. The screams also went through to think of the pain. The next few are suppose to be really good.

I thought this episode was just "okay". I have seen better episodes.
That being said, the most disturbing part for me was when Olivia and Elliot are coming out of the Burn Unit and all of a sudden they heard horrifying screams from Valerie (the mother)....that was bone rattling.

I would contend that no one ever deserves to be attacked as Valerie was attacked. However, a far more interesting twist would have been for Valerie to have set the ex-husband up the whole way. And they never really fleshed out the social worker angle. Another angle might have been for the social worker to have been in cahoots with either parent. Oh well.
