Over the last 25 years I have slept with a "snorer" I have tried every old wives tail, home remedy and over the counter product to no availe.
About 20 years ago the doctor even took my husbands tonsils and adnoids out because he would wake up (and stil does) with a sore throat.
My last effort was the nasal strips for him and wax earplugs for me. I don't think he snores quite as much and the earplugs do help to muffle the sound a fair bit.
My husband is worse when he is lying on his back so when he gets louder I nudge him and he'll move onto his side again
This is one post that I am going to follow closely.

Hi there my husband snores as well and has minor obstructive sleep apnoea, a medical condition, which could be the reason why your husband snores so loud. They do actually make certain mouth guards to help open up the oropharyngeal passage (ie mouth and throat airway) but you need to visit the doctor to discuss it first. Naturally there are also a lot of over-the-counter stuff available as suggested in a previous blog message for breathing more easily. Also if your bf is a bigger man then losing weight also helps (but of course I don't know how he looks like). People with smaller lower jaws (ie if it is recessed) do often have some snoring, but not all.
I actually just get my husband to stop snoring by discussing the problem with him first, and he agreed that every time he was snoring I should just nudge him and he would reposition himself and would stop snoring till I fell asleep.
It actually works and I guess he and I are getting used to it.
Hope that helps a bit!

At least you are finding this out before you are married. I doubt very much that there is a permanent cure for snoring. The only thing I can suggest if that you buy another bed. If I had known that my husband was going to be a snorer, 30 years after we were married, I don't think I would have married him. Fortunately, all our chilren have now married and left home, so we have lots of bedrooms to spare. My husband sleeps in a bedroom at one end of the house, and I sleep in another bedroom at the far end of the house. This suits both of us, as we can now get a great night's sleep.
