What is piercing the body for?

i've so many guys and gals poercing their body .. is there any defenite reason for this?

It's all just a matter of taste and what people like. Why do people get their ears pierced? Why do people get their BABY's ears pierced?..because they like how it looks!

Some people spend their money on movies, or going out to eat. With piercings it atleast lasts more than a couple of hours! I've had my nose pierced for 10 years!
