Is there any way to correct this?

i'm afraid to say man but the answer is...NO. i've also suffered this many a time and each time it happens,i swear to copy my response before posting it,but normally it works just fine. as far as writing objectionable words goes,i havent experienced any difficulty till now so i guess if you are aware enough to keep the language used within limtis,there shouldnt be any problem

Oh wow-- I had this happen to me several times-- I was answering a questions about sports and kids. Nothing negative- No bad words-- My post was long.. and it just didn't post. So I answered it again and the same thing- Then I gave up and went to another discussion. If you preview your post it will tell you if there is something wrong- Well I guess I better go back and read the guidelines again- : )I didn't know that. Great question!!

The white screen had nothing to do with cheney's first name. They are two separate issues. I used to copy my stuff so if the white screen happened I could paste it back on but mylot took away my ability to do that until I reach 500 posts so now I just have to hit refresh and end up with my post showing up twice, which is better than losing it altogether. As for Mr. Cheney's name, you need to go to your account settings and change it so you are not using the filter or whatever they call it, I forgot what they call it, but it's toward the bottom and you choose to see all words, no matter what they are. I recall on a message board once I was trying to talk about my cockatiels an it kept changing it to thingyatiels. lol

This also happens when there is a post that mylot does not agree with they will not let you respond to them

When I first started myLot, it would warn one that it could not be posted do to a word against guidelines. But when they did updates, something happened. I do not think that they are aware of this. I have had it happen to me a couple of times and I lost everything I typed. And if you know me, you will know that I type a lot. So to loose what I type is very frustrating!!! So I do not normally bother to type it up again when I loose it because I am too frustrated. Maybe you should send a private message to myLot and tell them this is happening. I have never thought to send a message before, but I guess I should now. But if only one person sends a message about an error, they may not believe it is a real error. But it would be considered a problem if many reported it. So, hence my response. :)

Me too. I wish there is some easier way My lot can inform us what words can not be there in our postings. Till then "preview resopnse" rules.

This happened to a friend of mine,too. They do this the way they do because I think they really want you to remember the experience. It is a bother, but at one time not too long ago, they had a real problem. There just is no good solution to these problems.

just submit a message to the mylot staff... they are very willing to fix problems witht he system and they are open to suggestions. I have never had a problem with mylot staff, i would definately submit a request to them

Hiya, I too used to have this problem all the time although it would happen to me even if I was not trying to post a word that wasn't allowed. It was so infuriating and often if i had put alot of time and thought into a post i would just leave it because i didn't want to repost it. Then i started to copy my posts before i sent them so i could paste them back in if i lost it. Mylot has since made the rule that you need 500 posts to be able to paste but since you do I suggest trying that. I agree with you that it would be a good idea if mylot could warn us upon submitting the post and give us the option to edit it at that stage instead of us losing the post. I think the huge amount of traffic on this site just overloads the system sometimes and this is why we are experiencing these glitches. I hope it all is worked out soon as i think i would have at least 1/3 more posts if this didn't happen to me all the time. I am looking forward to getting over 500 so i can copy them again. I have a long way to go though. Tanika.
