firstly i cook in olive oil and cut down on butter in my every recipie. Even i bake cakes without butters using canola oil instead of butter. And i also reduce the quantity while cooking too. Saute vegetables rather then deep fry them.
while making french fries.. try to bake them rather then deep fry.
you can do many variations while working in kitchen. its all up to in your hand to manage what you wanna do with your meal and health.

when i am deep frying anything i will jsu put them in the paper towel and after 2 minutes the oil will be absorbed and hence will be having it.
Mostly using corn oil as it is good for health and also there wont be any complaint of reusing.
For cooking of vegetables i wont put lot of water and hence drain them.just i will put them and sprinkle some water and make them cook.So the healthiness of the vegetables will not be wasted.

We have Walmart Supercenters here, and
they have started carrying more USDA certified organically
produced food products. So, whenever I can substitute an organically guaranteed items for the traditionally produced product...I do...SS

One great way to reduce fat when you're baking is to substitute fruit puree for the oil. I've used applesause, mashed pears, mashed overripe bananas and berry purees with great success. The finished product is usually even more moist than the original recipe.

We do not cook very unhealthy food, always use olive oil instead of regular, and try to use a healthier kind of salt.
Although some dishes that we do are really full of calories and I would never cut down on them coz then it wouldn´t taste as good =)

One thing I do is not cook with salt. Use other spices but do not use salt. When cooking it doesn't really add anything to meets and vegitables (baking cookies, cakes etc is different). Save the salt to add on to the food afterwards. You'll add less that way and that is far better for you.

Ground hamburger I presume would be what we call mince(?), I understand why you do it but does it not cook?? If I use mince for a dish I place a piece of bread on top after the cooking and this soaks up the oil.( then just throw the bread out)
I think everyone can be healthy by using fresh fruit and vegetables, From looking at my friends, most seem to eat a lot of one type of food weather its fibre, protein , or carbs, they don't seem to mix them evenly, they over kill one type.

I think one of the ways is to use non stick cookware. There are a lot of non-stick cookwares these days. We have one at home and we use it often so that there is no need to grease the pan.

I think using extra virgin olive oil is healthy for cooking but it is a bit expensive, use fat free express pans.

Running hot water for 2 minutes over your hamburger you loose also the nice tast of your food. Such a shame!
Instead of that you can better buy a special baking foil in the mall. Thats a tin piece of special prepared teflon plastic you can put into your fryingpan so you dont have to use any fat or oil to fry your meat! You can cut the piece of plastic teflon thing in the size of your bottom of the pan. To make it stick well to the bottom of your pan you can use 1 very tiny drup of oil as a sort of glue to get it stuck on the bottom of the pan. Than you can use another very tiny little drup of oil on the surface for first use to fry a piece of meat. You can put the thin baking foil away in the dishwasser. You can use it up for 1000 times, and it will cost you about $ 4 to get one. Thats a better idea, I think, than running meat under the hot tap, you loose so much of the taste with that.

I try to use fresh vegetables whenever possible as opposed to canned goods. When they are canned most of the vitamins are ruined... so fresh tastes better and is better for you.

i always prefer to peel the outer part of many vegetables because these days many peaticides are being sprayed.so even if we wash that doesnt give me satisfaction.so mostly i peel the outer thin layer.

If the recipe says to saute in butter. Use mostly vegetable oil but add a dab of butter. It will have a buttery taste but not so much colesterol as all butter.

DO buy organic fruits and vegetables whenever possible to avoid pesticides.
DON'T boil vegetables to a mushy state you will loose all the goodness from them.

I do that too! I wash the ground meat I buy before cooking them (if I bought it ground already) but most of the time I usually pick the meat, ask the butcher to wash it before grounding.
I pick lean meats and trim of fats before cooking. My family uses olive/canola oil. I make sure we always have vegetables in our meal and desserts too - we serve fresh fruits. My hunnie always buy dairy and other food items that has a low fat indicated in it.
