I am involved in the world's largest feeding scheme, Food For Life. I was wondering how many people have ever helped out the community or did some sort of volunteer work. Also why did you do it. I love to volunteer for things that benefit other people. How many of you guys are the same?

I don't think that I'm a hero. I live about ten minutes from a squatter camp (Shanty town) and I see how grateful those children and adults are when you fill their bowls with food. Sometimes, It is heart breaking to see old people running to wait in a que to get some food. I mean seriously old people. I think that everybody should do something like this at least once in their life. It really is an eye opener. But thank-you none-the-less.

i would give to the poor and we do here where we live. we have adopted a family in el salvador and send them things they need. but its sad that we as humans can only help a few as our own meens are limited. i want to volunter and will help out feeding the homeless at homeless shelters

I'm happy to hear people involved in volunteer work and in the world's largest feeding scheme! We intend to help people and so we registered the Alpha Omega Seniars Intl Foundation, Inc. for senior citizens, widows, orphans, disabled, poor intellectuals, etc. but we lack funds that up to now it's not operational. When it would become operational, we hope that you would volunteer also to help attain our cause. :)

I really admire and have utmost respect to people who are into volunteerism. People like you should be acknowledge by the society. and should be regarded with honor and deep respect. I know that the thing that you do is not really easy and if you ask most voluteers on why they are doing this kind of job they will just tell that they are happy in helping those who are in need. It is more on fulfillment and not on materialism. I myself wants to be on this world but my financial obligations to my family hinders me from joining these volunteer organizations.
