Trainspotting Theme: Anti Drug Or Pro Drug?

For those that have watched the movie and understand it..did you think that the movies overall theme was anti drug or Pro drug? Reason i ask is because i was having a conversation not too long back and one of my friends said that its a Pro drug movie..basically saying that drug use should be condoned..i think otherwise. I think overall its an anti drug movie..because the main character over comes his addiction and many things that happen through out the movie are lessons that the audience learns about drug use...for example when they find the baby dead due to neglect, or when rentons friend dies from aids (who mind you in the beginning was against the junk)..so what do you think.
