I also thought it was pretty creepy. In the beginning of the game, they seem to try to get a lot, a lot, and a lot of ambushes on you, which creeps you out. Later on in the game, it's simply hard, it takes more time to kill monsters.

I didn't liked Doom 3, I liked Doom 1 and 2 but 3 isn't scary, it's very DARK, I can't see anything and the game isn't as fun as the old ones but I liked the other "new" iD Games like Quake 4 !
Good bye,
crazyrk.

Ahaha, you play the older Doom? Same here, man! It's definitely the best, and much better than Doom 3 :) but the "I can't see anything" is a big part of Doom 3... adds to the atmosphere ;)
Quake 4 was awesome! I played that game through multiple times! lol

Doom 3 was one of those games that keeps you on the edge of your seat for extended amounts of time. For about half of the game I was piercing the screen with my ever-watchful eyes, looking for the next enemy. Trying to find it before it found me was the best chance of survival!
But as much as this game was new age, featured better graphics and a darker scene... nothing beats the old-time Doom I, Ultimate Doom, Doom 2: Hell on Earth and Final Doom. I still play those games like it's my religion.
Nothing beats them... nothing.
