Do You Find Writing a Stress Reliever

I know many of us here start New discussions and posts, and may write and respond to other Forum sites and are hoping to make a few extra dollars just so you can buy yourself a little extra, etc. We might even Love to Write poetry, and short stories, and looking for ways to get our Stuff published elsewhere as well. Or maybe we keep a journal in a Blog, or in a Notebook, etc. But do you Write just because you feel obligated, or for the money, or because you enjoy doing so, and find it a Great way to Relieve Stress? I know for me when I am feeling stressed if I can find a way to share how I am feeling whether it be in a notebook, Blog, Forum, Writing site, etc. I know it is sharing a part of me in who I really am, and helps others to know who I am as well. Some may feel I am being to personable, and to me, I could really not care. I feel I am who I am, and nothing will ever change this.

I agree, I find that if I am upset about something I can sit down and write it all out and I feel so much better. I'll write my husband a letter if he makes me mad because I know he can't interrupt me. Most of the time by the time I finish writeing it I have cooled off so much that I don't even give it to him.

Been there before. I find it is Great to be able to write things down. It helps us to realize things are not always as bad as they seem.

Yell at the Walls? Hmm.. Good thing your walls do not talk, but I do find writing out things a lot of the time will take my mind off of almost anything I really am frustrated with.

I do that too. Write a letter to my husband and never end out giving it to him. LOL! If he is not home and I am home alone, I will yell at the walls and get my frustrations out that way. I have a one-way conversation and he never feels the brunt of my anger. Well, maybe not NEVER. LOL!

When I am writing on my blog it is to gereate traffic for my websites, which leads to more money eventually. Knowing that I am taking steps to try to generate interest can be stress relief because I am ot just sitting and waiting. I like to write on mylot because it give me practice and ideas for my articles that I post on sites that pay for articles up front. There are times when I wrtie strictly for stress relief. Usually, I do that on mylot because I use the frustration to start new discussion threads. It works out pretty well.

This is a Good way to look at things. Because if you were pressured on time with a deadline to meet with your Writings it could be Stressful, but if you are doing it just to be sharing with others, it can be enjoyable.

my main reason when i joined mylot is to earn money..however, just after a day of responding in discussions, i already find mylot a great way to spend time..it's almost like i'm conversing face to face with a group of people..at work, i also find mylot a good way to take a break, relieve stress, and relax..now, it's not just for the money..i now consider mylot as among my favorite hobbies...

I agree with you. It is a chance to be able to converse with a lot of different people over time and meet others. The extra money is nice even if it is small as well. I know lately I come in here when I can and usually find myself feeling a little better after I leave as I was able to share some and maybe help make someones day a little brighter as well.

This may seem weird but i started to write when i was in 9th grade. I started writing a fantasy novel (which i used to love at the time) but i stopped. But it was litteraly good, i had a few friends read it and they were surprised because my grades weren't good but my writing was too good for my age. I actualy do have a Blog'Diary' But im not willing to tell you where it is hehe. Anyways I love writing and i still do i have been thinking of new ideas as i am currently thinking of starting a new novel to write. Seriously you should try it but it may take up to months just to write your first chapter! it took me a hole year to write 3 chapters...

It took me years to write my first novel, and over a year since I've been working on my second. I have learned a lot since I joined a writing group so my first novel is going to need an overhaul. I know people who have been working on their first novel for 25 years! Get it written and get it out and get on with the next one.

i do, especially when i'm able to complain about wutever stressers i have going on in my life. i've heard people complain too that some discussions should be kept private, but who cares if they don't like it why respond to it, just skip it and move on!

Writing down things can be a Great way to keep track of wonderful memories so that later in life you can look back and see where you have come from. It might even help if you ever want to Write about something and share it with others as well.

I have a suggestion for you. Buy a journal for your son too. Write down all the things he does and funny things he says as he is growing up. Record all about his birthday parties and what costume he wears for Halloween every year. Give it to him when he is older. I think he will get a kick out of reading about it. I am doing it for my girls and they already get a kick out of hearing the funny things they said a few years ago.

well.. that usually depends for me, because i only feel obligated writing when i am trying to pressure myself, but i get to have fun writing whenever i feel like it, or when i'm troubled, or whenever i seek advice from others or just post some of my feelings.

Well, I can relate with the being on fire when you first start doing something new, or going in spurts, as I think it happens to all of us. And relieving stress is a Good one when it comes to sleeping.

Here being honest, I write a lot for the money, but elsewhere I write for profit and for therapuetic-ness! It's my single most favorite thing to do!

hey, i like writing and responding to discussions because it feels good and stimulates my mind, it gets me thinking. i like it when you see a discussion and have an opiniuon you want to get across, and this site lets me do that. but the best feeling is posting a discussion and getting comments. when people leave good interesting replies it makes me feel like there is a real sense of community here.

I love to write in my journal for the same reasons as you said. Sometimes, even if I am not getting feedback, it feels better just to write things out. There is just something a bout writing that makes me feel as if I've shared something, even if no one is reading it, and that makes me feel a little better when I feel down or stressed or lonely. It also takes my mind off of my problems if I'm writing about something positive, or helps me to calm down from my stress if something is bothering me. I almost always write out my problems if they are really stressing me.

I like writing, always have. Add that to me writing freelance and earning money for it, I sometimes feel a bit better about the whole thing because I feel more validated when I see myself published and get paid for it. It's just a great feeling.

I've written some powerful poems when I was upset or sad or stressed. I also love to write in my journal or online blog when I am upset or stressed. I find it a great way to express how I'm feeling while keeping the flow and improving a craft I truly love!
