I have a child with ADD but haven't been giving him any medication. There are so many side effects to them. You don't know which ones to trust. As soon as a new one comes out, it sounds good, but later you find out that its causing strokes and heart attacks. I give my child a vitamin called Focus Factor which is supposed to support brain function. Is medicine best for kids with ADD/ADHD?

We have a few chiildren on my family that have adhd and me myself I don't like them taking such things because alot of the medicines out there has so many side effects and causes more problems then they fix. 2 of my nephews take concerta and the 4 girls take stronger stuff. But if they were my kids I don't think I would have them on those pills. I would try the diet and vitamin thing first because alot of time behavior problems are caused by poor diet and and not enough of certain vitamins like magnesium defiencncy can cause adhd systems in children. Does this focus factor work well and how much is the cost and where do you get it.

Hi I am back just read up on a few things. And thought I would let you know a few things I found. Have you heard of the company called Puritans Pride. They have a web site also you can check out www.puritan.com They have something called L-Theanine 100mg capsules. Studies indicates that L-Theanine interacts with the neurotransmitterGABA(gamma-aminobutyrate)GABA works with the centers of the brain** L-Theanine is an active ingredient found in green tea. GABA Complex Capsules supports your nervous system and brain functions the product BABA functions as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, inositol, an essential component of cell membranes that play an important role in the cell growth and function and Niacin a B vitamin that promotes nerous system health and energy metabolism. Don't know if it help you or not but it would probably be easier to go to the site and search and read up on it there.

Go to www.focusfactor.com . You can get a free bottle. You only pay s/h. It's not expensive either. Just remember to cancel the autoship or when you request the free bottle tell them you don't want to be put on autoship. You only want to try the free bottle first.

you don't know what's in focus factor either so I'd stop giving him that.I feel as you do about giving kids medication like those on the market. If he's extremely active and seems unable to stay focused,I'd also take him to good nutritionist because some study has shown how food additives contribute to brain malfunctions and autisim.also my grandaughter bought up a good point one day she said that when kids watch t.v on the regular, everything on the tube happens so fast that kids get bored in school where things happen in real time. I thought that was very insightful.
