I'd ask where the heck the checking account came from. :)
Checks're evil.
Credit Cards're evil.
Debit cards're okay, since they work against a real amount that you've got in your account. :)
(then again, as a cashier, I hate credit cards ("May I see your ID, please?" "NO!"), and I really hate checks ("What store is this again, sonny?"), because they're inefficient. I like it when you can swipe your card, key in an identifier (though pin numbers should be at least six digits long, not four), and confirm a payment. There. Done. Go home.)

I wouldn't spent it as I know bank can make mistakes and before you know it the money is taken back while you have spent some of it and now you are in trouble ...
I would verify with the bank before I touch it

Realistically you'd have to check with the bank, if you go ahead and spend that money, you'll be paying each and every penny back.

I would rejoice in the Lord. Then tithe, pay bills, rent and fix my car.

I would contact the bank and find out how the money got into my account and if it was a mistake.

I would call the bank and ask them if they had made a mistake and to check where the fund came from. My friend had this happen to him it wasnt that much money but still there had been money placed into his account and he took advantage of it and then the bank contacted him and said that they had made a mistake and he would have to pay all that money back

I would talk to the people at my bank and find out what was going on and how it got there.

I would definitely call the bank and inform them. I will ask them to find out the source of the funds if by chance my father or someone interested in my welfare has transferred the funds to me and keeping it for surprise (just an expectation). I definitely would not like to enjoy the money which doesn't belong to me. And the bank will one day find out it s not my money and i have to pay back and I lose my reputation as well.
