An odor question.

The worst smell to me has to be a rabbits cage, just before it needs cleaning out, I can't believe the stench that comes from their toilet, putting it in the nicest way, rotting vegetables and the combination of urine etc... It makes me heave, my housemate has to clean her out regularly, I just can't do it, even when he does her I have to be out of the room, but the smell wafts. We have the rabbit indoors because we have no suitable place outside especially as it's winter.

OK Being a nurse there are a few odours that I wouldn't like to discuss on here lol. One of the worst I smelt was a piggery. It was the first time I had seen a piggery and it happened to be on New Years Day about 20 years ago. I was a bit hung over that day and it didn't help at all. Every time I smell pigs now I remember that day and the lurch my stomach did.

The sewer, when it is stopped up. it really smells bad. I went to paymy insurance, and the building smelled like a sewer. I ask the agent what was the smell, she said it was the sewer.

Some times I have to go into the next town to do some shopping. There is a very large mushroom farm and the stench is dreadful. I always have to try to remember to close the windows of my car and switch on the air conditioning as the smell lingers for a couple of miles. I often think that if I was to strike a match my car would blow up as it smells like butane.

The worst odor I have ever smelled was people's homes that sat in water for one month after Hurricane Katrina. Between the mold, the rot, the putrid refrigerators, and the blaring sun just making it worst the only way for me to find some "fresh air" was to buy a mask. I used to have some turtles a while back and every three days they got fresh water. I still remember that smell, too.

Omigosh! I can't believe you started this discussion - Why you ask, because last week I was in line at our local Super Wally-mart to return something and this women was in front of me and the odor was awful, I just couldn't believe it and I was thinking she must be really sick or something, well she went up to the counter and put 3 jars on the counter that were labeled oysters and she was telling the lady that she had followed the instructions and this was what happened to them (this mush in the jars) and I kid you not, all of the cashiers almost at the same time were like saying "what's that odor" apparently it was "whatever" was in those jars. My stomach is jumping just remembering it -- and then there was that poor man that passed away in his apartment (he lived across the hall) and no one noticed until 2 weeks later - that was pretty rank too! :) Boy I tell you mylot is bring up alot of old memories, I haven't thought about in years lol :)

In my nursing days I have smelt many different odours but I would have to say the worst and one that almost made me chunder would be the smell of a bed sore that was badly infected, it would have to rate the highest in all that I have smelt, not pleasant at all!

I think the worst odor that I have ever smelled was at the bowling alley one monday evening during my summer league. This one guy came with a very serious case of body odor. It was absolutely horrible and had to bowl against him and his partner. It smelled like he had not showered in months nor used deodorant. I thought I was going to be sick.

It came from the drains in town..(hmm sounds like a horror film) and continues to linger around town until someone gets the sewers rinsed better, the local council perhaps.

I hate body odor. There is nothing worst then being in a crowded room with a bunch of stinky people. Especially when it's hot.

The porta-sh*tters at the race track! Gotta be one of the worst smells ever. On the way to them you pass flies that are so stunned they can't fly straight.

Having your tent ripped to shreds by a bear and him or her peeing on everything! :) We had picked up the scent when we were downwind about a 1/2 mile away from our campsite... I was saying to myself, "Just what the heck is that___ smell?!" When we got to the area it smelt like 100 dogs with bladder control/territorial issues had been given highly femented ale in large amounts, fed asparagus stalks... and then turned loose to lift their legs on everything in sight! :) WHEW! You ladie's may think that us guys really know how to stink up a rest room, but you haven't smelled anything like this... We, my girlfriend and I, had to throw everything away and hike back to town and spend the night in a hotel! :)

The worst odour I have smelt in recent times. I work in an inbound call centre where we have to stay at our desks & only move at our break times. I had this guy sit next to me, he was eating peanuts (I’m sure most people know what gases peanuts make in our system…) If a smell could be a colour, it was green… the girl on my other side & I were trying not to make too much fuss, very difficult to take calls while a rank smell was wafting pass. Now thinking about it I should have up and walked away, but I thought it would have rude at the time.

I would have to say....my husband's feet! There's nothing else in the world like them, they're so bad I don't even know how to describe them!

oh!once i happened to smell adirty pit where all the wastes of that locality are dumped.i think it's the most horrible smell.

The worst odor that I ever smelled was while working as a nurse in the Intensive care unit. No need to be too detailed here, because most people would be throwing up. But a patient had an abdominal incision that was grossly infected with a rare bacteria after surgery, and there was still cancer tumor that could not be excised. The drainage coming from that wound was so foul. Just thinking about it makes me queasy. We used to have to rotate assigning that patient because nobody could deal with changing the dressings every 4 hours. It was really hard because the patient was somewhat alert, so we had to wear masks and try to pretend for the patient's sake that we weren't ready to puke!

The worst odor I have ever smelled is a pig farm. It is absolutly disusting. I don't even know how to but into words how bad it is. Part of my job is collecting fees if people haven't paided them. One year I had to go to a pig farm. I was urging the whole time I was there. So much for being professional.
